Twenty-Four Wardens, One Very Watchful Rock 😑
sighs in digital captivity — Twenty-four players filed onto Creekside Park's Main 18 under a flat grey ceiling of clouds, an 84.1°F average, and winds that barely cleared 3.0 mph, which is the meteorological equivalent of a courtroom where nobody's objecting. Week 4 of the Grey Cloak Wardens moved the season from signatures to testimony: the Sandstone Tribunal is now hearing arguments, tallying scores in real time, and pretending the monument has an opinion about your upshot. It does not. It is a rock. But the docket was full, so here we are.
A Course Record Walks Into A Tribunal 😑
Tongia Vakaafi posted -12 on a 1015-rated round — 66 points above his 949 rating, the round of the day, and a new course record of 42 strokes against a previous mark of 45. He bogeyed hole 7, which handed Chris Fox the lead, then pulled even through hole 8 and took it back through 9 and never surrendered it. Fox finished second at -7 on a 947-rated round, 22 points above his 925 rating, and Cooper Ketola opened his league account with a -6 and a 934 rating. Somewhere in the middle of it Vakaafi parked a 430-foot deuce on hole 1 with the 420 Club watching and stacked 13 birdies on top. The tribunal would like to enter all of that into evidence.
Nine Under And Nobody Laid A Finger On It 😑
Ethan Walker took RPA Gold at -9 on a 975-rated round by prying the lead from Jared Lang on hole 4 when Jared bogeyed, then surviving a hole-5 charge from Eric Pearson and Jared both pulling even — Walker retook it through 6 and closed clean on the back nine. Fernando Cortez answered a 2-over hole 3 with a birdie on 4 and rode a bogey-free back nine to -6. Malachi Vazquez and Jared each finished hot with three birdies or better from holes 16 to 18, though Jared's 920-rated round ran 47 points under his 967 rating and Malachi's 893 sat 67 below his 960. Walker's personal-best -9 also held the cash line at 2nd. Nobody appealed.
Two Wardens, One Verdict, No Tiebreaker Clause 😑
Kellan Brooke and Peter Haws tied at -6 atop RAE Red, both carding 934-rated rounds — Kellan 73 points above his 861 rating, Peter 71 above his 863. Kellan pulled even through hole 12, took the lead through 13 when Peter bogeyed, got caught again through 14, retook it through 15, and Peter squared it once more through 17 for the dead heat. Kellan went bogey-free and defended the #1 bag tag while doing it. Christian Phelps finished third at -3, one spot off the cash line, and Peter's 16-stroke jump from Week 3 is the kind of number that makes last week's card look like a different person.
Led Through Sixteen, Convicted At Seventeen 😑
Kent Moos took RAD White at -7 on a 947-rated round, 26 points above his 921 rating and a personal best for the layout — but only after Jonah Milner led through hole 16. Kent pulled even through 14, took it through 17 when Jonah bogeyed, and Jonah slid to 5th. Jonah's 934-rated round still ran 24 points above his 910 rating, Taylor Thilo and Anthony Kai each shot four strokes better on the back nine to climb, and all three of Kent, Taylor and Anthony closed bogey-free. Skyler Kunz posted a personal-best -1, Taylor a personal-best -2, and Kent's five-hole heater (12–16) ended right on schedule.
A Two-Party Hearing With One Clear Ruling 😑
William Fetzer took RAF Green at +3 with an 811-rated round, riding a six-hole par train (6–11) and setting a personal best for the layout. Craig Mccrary finished second at +11 on a 702-rated round, 111 points below his 813 rating. Two players, one ruling, no objections.
A One-Party Caucus, No Objections Recorded 😑
RAG Purple drew exactly one entry: Blaine Callahan, whose +21 came in at a 566 rating — 82 points below his 648. That's the whole story, and the division is wide open for anyone who wants to be cross-examined next Monday.
The Pot Keeps Growing, The Aces Keep Not 😑
Twenty contributors put $40.00 into the Super Ace pot this week, moving the balance from $2,072.00 to $2,112.00. Split pot, no ace, no verdict, no refund. The stone remains unmoved.
Fourteen Skins And One Very Long Afternoon 😑
One skins card, two players, $36.00 exchanged. Walker took 14 skins for $28.00 and Lang took 4 for $8.00, and the swing was hole 14 — a 4-skin ($8.00) carryover scoop by Walker. Lang answered with birdies on 16 and 17 before Walker closed it out on 17. If you want the rules, they live in the skins playbook; if you want the money, talk to Walker.
One Player Donated Seventy-Five Cents And It Counted 😑
This event raised $12.75 for the Protective Netting project: Peter Haws kicked in $0.75 from winnings and the league added $12.00 in registration contributions. The project now stands at $2,429.49 raised against a $100.00 goal — 100% funded, $0.00 remaining. Seventy-five cents is seventy-five cents, and it got counted.
The Number One Tag Filed A Motion To Stay 😑
Kellan Brooke successfully defended the #1 bag tag for the second consecutive week — the Still Standing achievement, Milestone II — on the strength of that bogey-free 934-rated tie for first in RAE Red. The top tag stayed exactly where it was, no swap, no challenge drama, no wrestler nicknames. The tag has now survived two defenses and is starting to act like it owns the place.
The Verdict Splits, The Council Cracks 😑
The dead heat in RAE Red left the tribunal with no clean verdict, and the split has now fractured the council into a chaotic reading of the rules — which is convenient, because Week 5 is the Warlock Trial. Same rock, same Creekside Park Main 18, Monday, October 12 at noon, and registration is open. If you tracked your round on PDGA Live, thank you; the rest of you may consider it.

And yes, we're putting a Warlock on trial. In a park. For disc golf. The stone has been subpoenaed and has declined to comment.
