Skins is simple: pay per hole, lowest solo score grabs the pot, ties roll forward, and you pick the stakes—start at quarters or ante up if chaos helps you focus.
Quick Overview
A skins game pays the lowest score on each hole. Ties roll forward, stacking cash and tension until someone wins.
How It Works
Buy In
Each player pays per hole when they register—starting as low as $0.25/hole. On an 18-hole course, that's just a $4.50 buy-in at minimum.
Win Skins
The player with the lowest score on a hole wins 1 skin. Each skin is worth the per-player amount multiplied by everyone on the card.
Alice gets a 3, others get 4+
Alice wins $1.00
Carryovers
When two or more players tie for lowest, no one wins. The skin carries over, making the next hole worth 2 skins.
Settlement
After the round, 100% of the pot is distributed based on skins won. No house cut—all money goes to players.
Alice: 8 skins = $8
Bob: 6 skins = $6
Chris: 3 skins = $3
Dana: 1 skin = $1

Tied after 18? Congrats—you triggered tie-breakers: most birdies, then hot round. Still stuck? Split the leftover skins and leave me alone.
Tie-Breakers
If skins remain unresolved after the 18th hole, tie-breakers determine the winner:
Most Birdies
Player with the most birdies in the round wins unresolved skins.
Hot Round
Player with the lowest total score for the round wins.
Wash
Unresolved skins are split evenly among tied players.
