ElevateUT Terms of Service

Effective Date: November 25, 2024
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the ElevateUT League Management System ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • Service: The ElevateUT League Management System platform and website
  • League: An organized disc golf competition managed through the Service
  • League Director: The authorized administrator of a League
  • Player: Any individual participating in a League
  • Bag Tag: Physical or digital competitive ranking identifier
  • Professional Division: Divisions where cash prizes are awarded
  • Amateur Division: Divisions where merchandise credit is awarded

2. Eligibility and Registration

2.1 Age and Location Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a resident of the United States
  • Must provide accurate registration information

2.2 League Director Requirements

  • Must be a registered member
  • Must agree to enforce league rules
  • Must maintain active PDGA membership if running PDGA-sanctioned events

3. Competition Requirements

3.1 Group Size Requirements

All playing groups must have a minimum of three (3) players to be eligible for:
  • Official scoring
  • Prize money or merchandise credit
  • Course records
  • Special event competitions (CTP, ace pot, etc.)

3.2 Super Ace Requirements

All super ace claims must include:
  • Video recording of the entire throw
  • Clear footage of disc entering the basket
  • Upload to system within 5 hours
  • Witness statement on video

3.3 CTP (Closest to Pin) Requirements

All CTP moves must include:
  • Photo uploaded at time of placement
  • Immediate submission through mobile app

4. Financial Terms

4.1 Payments and Fees

  • League entry fees set by League Director
  • Processing fees clearly disclosed before payment
  • All transactions in US Dollars
  • No refunds after event start unless specified by League Director

4.2 Tax Reporting

Professional Division Payouts ($600+ Annual)

  • Form 1099-NEC issued for annual cash prizes of $600 or more (minus entry fees -- including ace pots and ctps)
  • W-9 form required before exceeding $600 threshold
  • Valid tax identification number required
  • Current mailing address required

Amateur Division

  • Merchandise credit not subject to tax reporting
  • No conversion of merchandise credit to cash allowed

4.3 Account Balance & Payouts

Account Balance

  • Players may maintain a balance on their account from winnings and deposits
  • Account balance can be used for league registration fees
  • Balance is non-transferable between players
  • Zero-interest account - no earnings on held balances
  • Account balance is not FDIC insured

Professional Division Payouts

  • Minimum payout request amount: $20.00
  • Payout requests processed within 5 business days
  • Valid PayPal account required for electronic payouts
  • Processing fees may apply to expedited requests
  • Payouts may be held pending W-9 verification if annual total exceeds $600

Account Balance Limitations

  • Maximum account balance: $2,000.00
  • Automatic payout initiated when balance exceeds maximum
  • Inactive accounts (12+ months) subject to maintenance fee
  • Account balance may be used for any league managed through ElevateUT
  • Fees and limitations subject to change with 30 days notice

4.4 Payment Priority

When registering for leagues, payment will be processed in the following order:

  1. Available account balance
  2. Selected payment method for remaining amount

Players cannot specify partial use of account balance - full available balance will be applied first.

5. Bag Tag System

5.1 Tag Ownership

  • Physical tags are player property
  • Digital tag records maintained by system

6. League Director Authority

  • Final authority on rule interpretations
  • May remove players for misconduct
  • May adjust prizes for special circumstances
  • Authority to cancel or reschedule events

7. Privacy and Data

  • Player information used only for league operations
  • PDGA numbers stored for ratings and divisions
  • Payment information encrypted and secured
  • Tax information stored securely and separately

8. Prohibited Activities

Users may not:
  • Manipulate scores or results
  • Create fraudulent accounts
  • Harass other users
  • Abuse the rating system
  • Exploit system vulnerabilities

9. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:

  • Player injuries or accidents
  • Lost or stolen items
  • Weather-related cancellations
  • Technical malfunctions
  • Data loss or corruption

10. Changes to Terms

ElevateUT reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via:

  • Email notification
  • System announcement
  • Website notice
