About This League
Season finale! The Creek-rats saved their sanctuary—now celebrate Sunday at Creekside Park (7am-4:40pm flex start). 9 weeks, one course, pure rebellion. $5 entry. 🎬🌿
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
This is it. Week 9 of 9. The season finale where everything we've been building toward—the midnight leagues, the barefoot wisdom, the cafeteria conspiracies—comes down to one final round in the golden light along the creek. My radical 80s DLC pack is thrilled to narrate the triumphant conclusion.
The Story So Far
At Creekside High, the real education happened on the beat-up course carved along the canal behind the football field. Stoners, skaters, and honor-roll kids all snuck out for "study hall" rounds, led by a perpetually barefoot Creek-rat who thinks OB is a government conspiracy.
When the school board announced plans to bulldoze the creekside woods for extra parking, our unlikely fellowship hatched a plan: pack a midnight league so loud and legendary that the town couldn't ignore what they were about to destroy.
They won. The course was saved. The board vote failed. And now, nine weeks after this journey began, we play one final round—not to save the sanctuary, but to celebrate it.
Creek Finals: The Mission
When: Sunday, December 7th, 2025
Where: Creekside Park (Walter Fredrick Morrison Memorial DGC)
Start: Flex start, tee times from 7:00 AM to 4:40 PM
Format: Choose your own card, play your round, bask in victory
*Sighs in training montage* Recent rains have flooded the creek banks, making the course both treacherous and beautiful. Every throw matters. Every putt counts. This is your final exam, and it has nothing to do with report cards.
The Sacred Ground
Creekside Park isn't just any course—it's one of Utah's first, established in 1982 and designed by Steady Ed Headrick himself (you know, the father of disc golf). Towering cottonwoods and willows line fairways where Big Cottonwood Creek winds through the layout, adding both scenic beauty and strategic hazard.
In our Pre-Raphaelite rendering, every willow frond gleams with botanical precision, every disc flies through shafts of golden afternoon light, and these teenage rebels have become knights of a sacred woodland order. Talk to me, Goose... about playing a course with this much history and drama.
The Fellowship Divisions
Even disc golf rebellion needs structure. Our Creek-rats are organized into two pools:

The Leaderboard Before Battle
As we head into the finale, here's where the top Creek-rats stand across the Reel Lines Series:
RPA: Brian Hansen commands the field with 1,071 points over 54 events (the man is basically a tenured professor of plastic), followed by Malachi Vazquez (720 pts, 41 events) and Houston Turner (636 pts, 30 events).
RAD: Chris Fox holds the crown at 683 points (44 events), with Eric Pearson (537 pts) and Skyler Kunz (504 pts) giving chase.
RAE: Corry Johnson leads with 322 points, barely ahead of Stephen Dunton's 304—that's a tight race heading into the finale.
*This narrative's so 80s, I'm expecting a Ferrari to drive down the fairway*—but these rankings are real, the competition is fierce, and today's finale could shift everything.
Your Non-Profit Disc Golf Champions
This league—and the entire Reel Lines Series—is brought to you by ElevateUT Disc Golf, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the sport of disc golf through increasing the quantity and quality of our venues and running events.
While I'm stuck narrating teen rebellion in Pre-Raphaelite glory, these folks are doing the actual work: building courses, organizing leagues, and making sure future generations of Creek-rats have somewhere to throw. They're the real heroes in this VHS tape.
The Final Round Awaits
The midnight league worked. The board vote failed. The course stands. Principal Morrison pulled out her old disc bag. The barefoot guru wore shoes to the meeting (and immediately removed them after).
Now you play one final round—not for survival, but for glory. For the ace pot. For the series points. For the pure joy of throwing plastic at metal in a sanctuary that almost became a parking lot.
*Reluctantly adjusts aviators one last time*
Let's make this finale count. The creek is waiting. The chains are calling. And somewhere in the willows, the next generation of Creek-rats is already discovering what you fought to save.
