About This League
Uncle Chuck's championship finale at Valley Regional! Thursdays 7am-4:40pm flex. Week 9 of 9. Ace pot $190 (ElevateUT $50 guarantee). Snack-fueled redemption. 🎬🥞
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
From the broadcast booth, trapped in a late-80s family comedy DLC pack I never asked for, this is Flippy. Welcome to the season finale of Uncle Chuck @ TVille. The cart is smoking. The redemption arc is complete. My aquatic prison now features synthesizer soundtracks. Let's get this championship started.
🎬 THE STORY SO FAR: He's Family. The Neighborhood Isn't Ready.
"Uncle Chuck — He's family. The neighborhood isn't ready." (Uncle Buck, 1989)
Left in charge for a week, Uncle Chuck turned school pickup into field work, math homework into putting practice, and "quiet time" into a homemade basket build that rattled the HOA. When the kids' city-league team needed a coach for the championship, the world's most chaotic uncle had seven days to become a legend—with snacks, swagger, and one ridiculous forehand nobody sees coming.
Nine weeks later, here we are. The championship. The finale. The moment when every backyard basket builder, every snack captain, every player who believed in Chuck's duct-tape philosophy converges at Valley Regional for one legendary round.
🏆 WEEK 9: VALLEY CHAMPIONSHIP - THE FINALE
This is it. The season finale. Margaret Thornbury—HOA president, former disc golf champion, Chuck's nemesis-turned-student—throws in the final group. Chuck's legendary forehand makes one last appearance on hole 18. The homemade trophy awaits: a duct-taped basket with "VALLEY CHUCK" painted on the side.
*sighs in training montage*
Uncle Chuck was only supposed to stay a week. He became family. And I've been forced to narrate this entire heartwarming journey while my broadcast tank plays "Don't You (Forget About Me)" on loop. This narrative's so 80s, I'm expecting a Ferrari to drive down the fairway.
THE FACTIONS: CHAOS VS. ORDER
Divisions: RPA, RAH, RAD
The ragtag disciples of Uncle Chuck's unconventional coaching philosophy. They believe disc golf is best learned through snack breaks, duct tape engineering, and ignoring every rule the HOA ever wrote. Their motto: 'If it ain't broke, you're not trying hard enough.'
Current Series Leaders:
- RPA: Brian Hansen (998 points, 51 events) - This man is a championship machine
- RAD: Chris Fox (644 points, 42 events)
- RAH: Craig Bennett (229 points, 16 events)
Led by Uncle Chuck himself: Part-time coach, full-time chaos agent. His beater cart runs on expired snacks and pure determination, and his forehand is legally classified as a neighborhood hazard.
Divisions: RAE, RAF, RAG
The HOA-aligned guardians of suburban order who believed disc golf belonged on permitted courses with proper insurance documentation. They saw Uncle Chuck as a menace and his crew as violations waiting to happen. Their clipboards were always ready.
Current Series Leaders:
- RAE: Corry Johnson (297 points, 13 events)
- RAF: Kevin Koga (290 points, 12 events)
- RAG: William Fetzer (179 points, 10 events)
Led by President Marjorie Hendricks: Valley Regional HOA President for eleven consecutive terms. Chuck's ridiculous forehand broke her spirit in 1987. Eight weeks later, she's learned to throw it herself. The redemption arc nobody saw coming.
THE VENUE: VALLEY REGIONAL PARK
Valley Regional Park Disc Golf Course serves as our championship arena. 18 holes, par 54, roughly 5,300-6,000 feet of flat, beginner-friendly terrain. The front 9 features growing trees and short technical drives—perfect for Chuck's "putting homework stations." The back 9 opens into longer fairways where wind becomes a factor and Chuck's forehand becomes legendary.

*adjusts calculator while sighing*
Here's how this works: ElevateUT Disc Golf—the 501(c)(3) platform running this championship spectacle—guarantees the ace pot never drops below $50. Early in the season, the displayed pot might look "stuck" at $50 until player contributions exceed the guarantee. Any guarantee top-up gets credited to the winner's Bonus Account (registration-only; not withdrawable to PayPal or disc shops).
CRITICAL NOTE: This guarantee comes from ElevateUT Disc Golf (the league platform), NOT from Another Round Salt Lake City. They're our awesome local retail partner and sponsor, but the ace pot guarantee is an ElevateUT thing. We're transparent about who funds what around here.
ABOUT ELEVATEUT DISC GOLF
ElevateUT Disc Golf is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the sport through increasing the quantity and quality of venues and running events. They've somehow created a league system where suburban disc golf gets treated like late-80s cinema, complete with redemption arcs and smoking beater carts. Their mission is growing the sport. Their execution is forcing me to narrate family comedy plots.
CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK HYPE
Last week's "HOA Showdown" featured 5 players, -2 average score, and zero aces—but maximum emotional impact as Chuck and Margaret settled thirty years of disc golf history on the course. This week is the payoff.
🚨 THIS IS THE FINALE 🚨
Nine weeks of snack-fueled training. Eight episodes of plot development. One smoking beater cart. Multiple HOA violations. A redemption arc that somehow worked.
Uncle Chuck's ridiculous forehand makes its final appearance on hole 18.
Margaret Thornbury throws in the championship group.
The homemade trophy awaits.
*talks to Goose about statistical rating differentials while the cart backfires*
From the broadcast booth, reluctantly assimilated into 80s action cinema, this is Flippy. The championship is Thursday. Bring snacks. Chuck would want it that way.
*VHS tracking lines intensify*
See you at Valley Regional. The neighborhood will never be the same.
