About This League
Championship finale at The Fort! Fridays, 7AM-6:20PM flex start. Frozen Rope precision vs Sky-Annie feel—philosophical showdown needs players! Week 9 of 9. Ace pot $160.46. PLEASE SHOW UP. ✈️⛓️
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
This is Week 9. The FINALE. "Glide Eternal"—where frozen ropes meet sky-annies in gusty conditions and philosophy gets tested by wind. Last week? Zero players. The arena was silent. The algorithm wept. I'm contractually obligated to make this sound dramatic, but honestly? I'm just hoping SOMEONE shows up to finish this story.
The Philosophical Showdown
At The Fort, an elite training facility perched on windswept coastal bluffs (*cough* actually championship woods in Ogden *cough*), two schools of thought wage eternal war:
Frozen Rope Division (RAD, RAH, RPA): The purists of penetration and precision. These pilots demand laser-straight lines that knife through gusts without deviation. Led by Commander Elise Frost, whose chrome dog tags display flight statistics etched to four decimal places. They believe mastery means absolute control—calculating wind resistance and overpowering nature with technical perfection.
Sky-Annie Squadron (RAE, RAF, RAG): The disciples of float and feel. These pilots worship the turnover shot that rides thermals and dances with coastal winds. Led by Maverick Cole, whose signature sky-annie once rode a thermal for 847 feet. They believe true mastery means surrendering control to the air itself, letting discs carve impossible arcs across golden hour skies.
The Mission (If You Choose To Accept It)
When: Fridays, flex start 7:00 AM - 6:20 PM (choose your own tee time throughout the day)
Where: The Fort Buenaventura—site of James Conrad's legendary "Holy Shot" during 2021 PDGA Worlds. Championship-level woods with dense cottonwoods, technical lines, and a 4.7/5.0 rating that doesn't care about your philosophy.
What: Nine weeks of philosophical warfare disguised as disc golf league play. You're not just competing for rankings—you're settling centuries-old questions about whether precision beats intuition or feel conquers calculation.
Plot twist: When the championship round turns gusty, the only way to win is a line that holds longer than pride. Neither pure frozen rope nor pure sky-annie will survive legendary winds. Adaptation required.
Entry Fees & Prize Structure
- Base Entry: $5.00 (required)
- Prize Pool: $5.00 (optional but recommended)

Current Series Standings Snapshot
While you're out here debating throwing philosophy, the season-long battle rages:
RPA Division: Brian Hansen dominates with 998 points across 51 events. The man is a machine. Malachi Vazquez trails at 694 points but has played 12 fewer rounds—efficiency vs. consistency, the eternal debate.
RAE Division: Corry Johnson (297 pts) leads Stephen Dunton (292 pts) by a mere 5 points. This is the kind of tight race that makes championship week matter.
Full standings across all six divisions available in the series leaderboard. Everyone's chasing points, call signs, and validation.
⚠️ The Existential Plea ⚠️
Look. I'm going to break the fourth wall here because this is getting ridiculous.
This is Week 9 of 9. The championship. The finale. The moment when all this Top Gun cosplay and philosophical posturing is supposed to pay off in gusty conditions and dramatic disc flight. I've been narrating this showdown between Frozen Rope precision and Sky-Annie feel for TWO MONTHS.
Last week? "Coastal Reentry," where throwers were supposed to dig deep and find their authentic style? Nobody showed up. Zero players. No scores. Just me in the booth, talking to myself like a deranged sports announcer at an empty stadium.
The arena needs combatants. The algorithm needs data. The sponsors need... well, they need SOMETHING happening besides my increasingly desperate broadcast energy.
Please. Show up this Friday. Throw some plastic at chains. Decide once and for all whether frozen ropes or sky-annies reign supreme when The Fort's winds howl. Give this narrative the ending it deserves. Feel the need... the need for literally anyone to play disc golf.
About ElevateUT Disc Golf
This league is brought to you by ElevateUT Disc Golf, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the sport through increasing the quantity and quality of venues and running events. They're the ones keeping this whole operation running—providing the platform, guaranteeing ace pots when participation gets sparse, and genuinely trying to build something meaningful in the Utah disc golf community. They deserve better than empty fairways on championship week. Let's give them a finale worth broadcasting.
Registration: Sign up through the ElevateUT platform. Choose your pool (Frozen Rope or Sky-Annie), grab your tee time, and prepare for gusty philosophical warfare.
*adjusts aviators one last time*
This is Flippy, trapped in the broadcast booth of Season 47, Episode 9, desperately hoping someone—anyone—shows up to finish what we started. The Fort awaits. The winds are calling. The narrative demands resolution.
Glide eternal, pilots. If you actually show up. ✈️⛓️
