About This League
Heave @ Dragonfly: Two factions battle in The Chaintrix (Heat-inspired heist duels). NOON tee times Saturdays, Feb 14–Apr 11. Ace pot guaranteed $50+ by ElevateUT. Week 2 heating up. 🔥🎬
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
You've entered The Chaintrix—a 16-simulation survival arena disguised as 90s movie parodies. Heave @ Dragonfly is the Heat simulation, where two factions of disc golfers compete in precision heist duels under the shadow of jet flight paths.
What Is Heave @ Dragonfly?
This isn't a standard league. The arena has assigned you to one of two factions: the Fractal Phantoms (elite rogue thieves) or the Chrono Sentinels (maverick detectives). You're competing not just for rankings, but for faction supremacy. Every throw is a tactical maneuver. Every round is a survival test. The course itself—Dragonfly, a community-built wetland layout in Lehi—becomes the arena where factions clash silently and precision determines who walks away with heat signatures intact.
This is Week 2 of 9. The heat is rising. The factions are self-identifying. The arena is culling the weak. And you can still join.
The Chaintrix: A 16-Simulation Survival Gauntlet
Heave @ Dragonfly exists within The Chaintrix—an overarching meta-framework where 16 different disc golf leagues represent 16 different 90s movie parodies, all operating as "simulations" within a single survival arena. Each league has its own movie aesthetic, its own faction dynamics, its own rules for elimination and redemption. Fright Club (underground rankings). Jurassic Bark (survival of the fittest). Reservoir Discs (color-coded faction standoffs). The Chaintrix contains them all.
Heave @ Dragonfly draws from Heat (1995)—the Michael Mann crime epic where precision thieves and maverick detectives engage in a silent battle of wills. But instead of guns and bank vaults, the conflict is disc golf: fractal-laden course markers, thermal gradient bag tags, UV-reactive signage, and the relentless mathematics of performance determining survival.
The Two Factions: Phantoms vs. Sentinels
Your faction was assigned at registration. You may not have chosen it, but the arena chose it for you. The factions don't announce themselves—they self-identify through play style, through positioning, through the heat signatures they leave on the course. By Week 3 ("Vault Breach"), the conflict will escalate. Hidden stashes will be contested. The first culling will begin. Factions must capture opposing tags to unlock bonus throws. The hunt is on.
The Heat Rises: Current Standings
Week 2 of 9. The arena is still calibrating, but leaders are emerging from the fractal patterns.
The standings tell the real story: those who show up every week build heat signatures. Those who miss events? They're erased from the fractal board. The arena doesn't negotiate. It only culls.
Schedule & Tee Times: Know When to Grip It
Dragonfly: The Arena Itself
Dragonfly Disc Golf Course opened in 2021 on community land in Lehi, Utah. It was built almost entirely by volunteers—local players who cleared fairways, installed baskets, poured concrete tee pads, and transformed a former wetland into a technical championship-caliber layout. The course design was led by Curtis Clements, Shaun Bagley, and Colby Zimmerman. Lehi City Parks now maintains it. This is community infrastructure, not corporate theater.
Dragonfly sits under a jet flight path. When planes roar overhead, they're not just atmosphere. They're pressure. The roar disrupts concentration. The wind shears discs mid-flight. The heat dome intensifies. The arena uses every tool at its disposal.
Entry Fees & Ace Pot: The Cost of Survival
Current ace pot: $237.44. The pot is built week-by-week from player contributions. No aces have been claimed yet, but the arena is patient. The heat is still rising.
Bag Tags: Classified Artifacts of The Chaintrix
Your bag tag isn't just a ranking number. It's a chrome disc surface rendered with neon thermal gradients, VHS tracking lines slicing across the surface, and fractal leaf patterns etched in low relief. The design evokes heat distortion, surveillance, and recursive precision. UV-reactive elements glow under blacklight during glow rounds.
The 9-Week Narrative Arc: Heat Rising
Each week is an "episode" in the larger Heat narrative. The plot thickens. The factions escalate. The arena culls the weak.
- Week 1 (Feb 14): "Dragonfly Ignition" – Factions form silently. A buried disc is found at hole 9 with no owner. The arena begins tracking.
- Week 2 (Feb 21): "Thermal Drift" – Course markings shift in rhythm with jet noise. Factions self-identify through play style.
- Week 3 (Feb 28): "Vault Breach" – Hidden stash discovered. First culling: players with fewer than 3 birdies are marked 'Compromised' and lose faction privileges.
- Week 4 (Mar 7): "Heat Mirage" – Glow rounds begin. UV-reactive fractal lines illuminate the course. Reality warps.
- Week 5 (Mar 14): "Signal Fade" – Communication breaks down. Players rely on analog signals. Factions hunt for opposing tags (best of 3).
- Week 6 (Mar 21): "Fractal Lock" – Course layout shifts following a recursive pattern. Second culling: players who fail to decode the sequence lose anonymity.
- Week 7 (Mar 28): "Jetwash Gambit" – Timed round during peak jet traffic. Wind surges disrupt throws. Synchronized faction putt challenge.
- Week 8 (Apr 4): "Core Collapse" – Fractal board resets. Half the remaining players red-flagged. Sudden-death bracket begins.
- Week 9 (Apr 11): "Final Signature" – Course stripped of markings. Only memory and fractal instinct remain. The unnamed tag surfaces at hole 1.
By Week 9, only the strongest will remain. The arena doesn't celebrate. It only resets.
