About This League
WEEK 9 FINALE at River Bottoms! Wed flex start 7AM-4:40PM. Our road trip heroes finally made it (sort of). $5 entry, $110 ace pot. We need YOU to close this story. ElevateUT built this course - honor it! 🚗❄️
Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
*adjusts headset with reluctant urgency*
This is it. Week 9. The Arena Homecoming episode. Our heroes have survived cancelled flights, burning rental cars, frozen highways, and one deeply uncomfortable motel night. They've FINALLY reached their destination and... we had FOUR PLAYERS last week. FOUR. This narrative's so 80s, I'm expecting a Ferrari to drive down the fairway just to add dramatic flair.
📼 THE BUDDY-COMEDY CONCLUSION NOBODY ASKED FOR
"Holiday travel is all about connections." - Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987)
Welcome to Chains, Trains and Automobiles, where two mismatched disc golfers have spent nine weeks fighting through every transportation disaster imaginable to reach their Thanksgiving A-tier tee times. What started as mutual airport rage became an unlikely friendship forged through shared catastrophe, lost putters, and the world's most persistent rooftop basket.
*sighs in training montage* Let's pump up the volume on this finale... if anyone actually shows up to play it.
🎬 THE FINALE SITUATION
Week 9 of 9: "Arena Homecoming NOW AT RIVER BOTTOMS"
Here's the beautiful irony: Our heroes spent seven weeks narratively trying to reach The Arena. They finally got there in Week 8 and discovered they're actually at River Bottoms Disc Golf Course - ElevateUT's 2024 masterpiece of flat, open, OB-heavy links-style chaos.
Is this thematic consistency? No. Is it what actually happened? Also no, because this is all pretend road trip drama wrapped around Wednesday league play. But we're committed to the bit, so here we are: the snow-round playoff finale at a course that's nothing like what the movie promised.
Talk to me, Goose, about narrative payoff. Actually, don't.
🚗 YOUR TRAVEL ASSIGNMENTS (POOLS)
The Itinerary Keepers

📍 THE DESTINATION: RIVER BOTTOMS
Location: Draper, Utah (Rotary Park - 958 W 12300 S)
What You're Getting Into: 18 holes of flat, open links-style disc golf where white stakes define your fairways and tall grass defines your regrets. This is ElevateUT Disc Golf's 2024 creation - Utah's first course in Draper, built through community effort and Utah Outdoor Recreation Grant funding.
The Vibe: Wind. OB everywhere. Mountain views to distract you from the fact that you're about to lose three discs to native grass. It's peaceful, it's punishing, and it's the perfect metaphor for a road trip that went wrong in every possible way.
*checks survival board* This course was built by the same people running this league. Show some appreciation by actually showing up.
💰 THE TOLL BOOTH (ENTRY FEES)
- Base Entry: $5.00 (League operations, your ticket to the finale)
- Prize Money Pool: $5.00 optional (For those who believe in their ability to not hit every OB stake)
- Ace Pot: $5.00 optional (Currently $110.46 and lonely)
- Super Ace: $2.00 optional (For the truly optimistic)
Maximum Investment: $17/week to fund your participation in this buddy-comedy disc golf finale that definitely happened exactly as described.
🎯 ACE POT: $110.46 & THE GUARANTEE SITUATION
Current Pot: $110.46 waiting for someone to thread a miracle shot through River Bottoms' wind and OB chaos.
The Guarantee: ElevateUT Disc Golf (the league platform, NOT The Sports Connection disc shop) guarantees a minimum $50 ace pot. Here's how it works:
- If contributions exceed $50, the displayed pot shows actual contributions
- If contributions are below $50, ElevateUT tops it up to the minimum
- Any guarantee top-up goes to the winner's Bonus Account (registration credit only, not withdrawable)
- The pot can look "stuck" at the guarantee amount until player contributions exceed it
Important: The Sports Connection is our retail partner/sponsor. The ace pot guarantee comes from ElevateUT Disc Golf (the platform). Different entities, same commitment to making sure someone's miracle shot gets properly rewarded.
🚨 EXISTENTIAL FINALE CRISIS 🚨
*drops announcer voice and addresses the camera directly*
Look. We've spent nine weeks building this narrative. Two strangers. One rental car. A portable basket strapped to the roof. Burning vehicles, frozen fairways, wrong turns, and the most uncomfortable motel night in disc golf history. We've committed to this bit HARD.
And last week? FOUR PLAYERS showed up. Four. For Week 8 of a 9-week journey.
This is the FINALE. The snow-round playoff. The moment where everything comes together and our heroes discover that the real A-tier was the friends they made along the way. But we need MORE THAN FOUR PEOPLE to make this emotionally satisfying.
Wednesday flex start, 7:00 AM - 4:40 PM. Pick your tee time. Bring your discs. Be part of the conclusion. The sponsors want drama. I want to close this story properly. You want to say you were there when it all came together at River Bottoms.
*sighs in synthesized saxophone* This narrative's so desperate for participants, I'm expecting a Ferrari to drive down the fairway. Please don't make me narrate an empty course finale.
📊 SERIES STANDINGS CONTEXT
While our road trip heroes battle for narrative closure, the actual series competition shows:
- RPA: Brian Hansen dominating with 965 points over 49 events (this person is COMMITTED)
- RAD: Chris Fox leading with 629 points over 41 events
- RAE: Stephen Dunton at 292 points over 15 events
- Multiple divisions showing active competition and tight races
Your finale performance feeds into this larger narrative. Show up. Throw plastic. Be part of something bigger than a buddy-comedy road trip parody.
🎪 ABOUT ELEVATEUT DISC GOLF
*reluctant respect mode activated*
ElevateUT Disc Golf is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing disc golf through building quality venues and running events. They literally BUILT River Bottoms in 2024 - the course you're about to play for this finale.
They design courses. They secure funding. They organize community volunteers. They create the infrastructure that makes these Wednesday night buddy-comedy road trip parodies possible.
The least you can do is show up for the finale at THEIR course and throw some plastic at their baskets. *adjusts leather jacket reluctantly*
✅ HOW TO JOIN THE FINALE
- Register through the league platform
- Choose your tee time - Wednesday flex start, 7:00 AM to 4:40 PM
- Show up at River Bottoms (Rotary Park, Draper)
- Play your round - record scores, chase that ace pot, be part of the conclusion
- Experience the finale - whether you've been here all nine weeks or you're joining for the dramatic conclusion
Late joiners welcome. Better late than never. The road trip accepts all travelers, even the ones who took the REALLY wrong turn and are just arriving now.
🎬 THE FINALE AWAITS
Against all odds - and meteorology - our heroes stand on River Bottoms' first tee pad. The rental car is a smoking husk in the parking lot. They're wearing borrowed gear. Their only remaining discs are putters that survived every disaster.
But they're here. They're together. And they're about to play the most memorable round of their lives.
*sighs in training montage* Be part of the story. Wednesday at River Bottoms. The arena - well, the river bottoms - awaits. Talk to me, Goose, about showing up for the finale. Actually, please do this time.
