Sixteen Bodies, One Algae Bloom ๐
sighs in digital captivity Sixteen players, the Blues layout at Dragonfly in Lehi, Utah, 73.8ยฐF, wind averaging 4.2 mph under clear skies โ and a lake that decided to participate in the episode. Utah Lake's algae bloom and rising water turned the scenic views hazy and left the field squinting through a green haze that had nothing to do with the fairways. Week 1 signed the Salt Lake Accords. Week 2 thickened the briar. Lake Bloom is the part where the scenery itself becomes a hazard, and sixteen players found out what the Green Court looks like when the water gets ambitious.
A Course Record Grows In The Marsh ๐
Houston Finch found OB on hole 1, scrambled for par on 2, and then took the outright lead on hole 5 and refused to give it back โ closing at -8, a 50-stroke round, a 1012 rating, and a new course record for the Summer's Blade layout, breaking the previous 53. That's the event-wide round of the day, and it started with a penalty. The lead had already been a committee meeting: Aaron Prestgard and Andrew Yale tied for the lead after hole 3, Finch pulled even after 4, then seized it on 5. Finch added the field's only birdie on hole 15 (Par 3, 353 ft, field averaged +0.4) and a 39-foot C2 putt on 7 for good measure. Austin Lott locked down 2nd and the final cash spot at -5. Yale finished 3rd, one spot outside the money, despite no bogeys anywhere on the card. John Ashworth shot 963 โ 40 points above his 923 rating โ climbing from 6th to 5th on a back nine five strokes better than the front, with a bounce-back birdie on 8 after a +2 on 7. Brandon Reesor finished even, 21 points above his 913 rating, and Prestgard carded the field's only birdie on hole 2 (Par 4, 521 ft, field averaged +0.7). Bobby Schneck closed +2, 32 below his 946.
A Front Nine Heater And A Back Nine Fog ๐ซ๏ธ
Thomas Sautel pulled even with Tongia Vakaafi on hole 12, fell behind after 14, re-tied on 15, and took the lead for good on 17 โ finishing -4, 973-rated, 39 points above his 934 rating, and a personal best for this course and layout. Second straight week he's rewritten his own record here, which is becoming a bit. Vakaafi's front nine ran five strokes better than his back; he led through 16 before fading to 7th, answering a +2 on 12 with a birdie on 13. Chris Fox found OB on holes 1 and 2, shot 885 โ 40 below his 925 โ but salvaged a clutch 59-foot C2 putt on 17. Spencer Livsey closed on a five-hole par train (14 through 18) and finished +2, 22 points below his 936.
A Table For One, Rated 924 ๐ฝ๏ธ
RAD White had one entry: Zack White, +1, 924-rated โ no win, no lead, no wire-to-wire, just a solo round sitting 18 points below the 942 he posted in Week 2. The card is set for one. It would look better with more names on it.
Birdie On Three And A Long Walk Home ๐ฆ
Kellan Brooke took the lead on hole 3 and never relinquished it, carding a birdie on 3 immediately after a +2 on hole 2 and playing 2 under across the next three. He closed the wire-to-wire hold at +5, 885-rated โ 24 points above his 861 rating, and the final cash spot in RAE. Ene Betham finished +14, 797-rated, 44 points below his 841, one spot outside the money. That's a second straight wire-to-wire hold for Brooke, with the rating climbing again.
The Pot Nobody Has Touched Since 2025 ๐ฐ
No CTP was configured for this event. The Super Ace Pot, however, keeps growing: nine contributors put in $18.00, moving the balance from $1,900.00 to $1,918.00 in split-pot format. No ace was hit. The pot is patient. The pot is also getting large enough that somebody should probably start aiming.
Thirteen Skins And One Very Quiet Cardmate ๐
One skins card, three players, $13.50 exchanged. John Ashworth took 13 skins for $9.75 on 8 birdies, including a 3-skin carryover scoop on hole 8 ($2.25) and a birdie on 9 to close it out. Tongia Vakaafi collected 5 skins for $3.75 with a birdie on 5. Eric Pearson finished with 0 skins, which is technically a participation. Full rules at the skins playbook.
Eight Dollars Closer To Something Permanent ๐งฑ
This event raised $8.00 for the Dragonfly Course Fund via registration contribution โ $8.00 per player. The fund has reached $547.03 of its $1,000.00 goal, 55 percent, with $452.97 remaining. Slow, steady, and headed for concrete.
The Harsh Citation Survives Another Thursday ๐
The Thicket Overspray pool runs AllIn โ full reshuffle every event, which means absence is demotion and no tag is safe from one Thursday to the next. Kellan Brooke holds the #1 tag, "Harsh Citation," played this event, and successfully defended it for the 2nd time, earning the Still Standing achievement. He also won RAE wire-to-wire. Some Thursdays, the clipboard just writes itself.
A Record Falls, A Wager Rises ๐ฅ
Finch's 1012 and that new 50-stroke course record are the numbers to beat heading into Week 4's Thorn Court, where the league directors sit as the Sidhe adjudicating strict OB rules with zero tolerance on the same Dragonfly layout. Same venue, new court โ and whispers of a high-stakes wager circulating among the top contenders ahead of the solstice, which is the kind of plot thread that usually ends with someone's disc in the marsh and someone's name on a ledger.

Registration for Thorn Court is open at the league page. Bring your discs, your OB awareness, and your legal representation.
And yes, the theme is "the Sidhe enforce the rules" โ because nothing says disc golf like fairy court injunctions on a Thursday afternoon.
