dramatic horror sting Well, well, well... looks like our Chase Scene turned into more of a leisurely stroll through the woods. sighs in direct-to-VHS quality

Chase Scene, Skeleton Crew

Six brave souls showed up to The Fort Buenaventura for Week 6's "Chase Scene" episode, proving that sometimes the real horror is checking your league attendance numbers. With temperatures hovering around a crisp 44°F and virtually no wind, conditions were actually perfect for disc golf—if only we had more than half a dozen players to appreciate it. The course looked ready for its cinematic moment, but apparently most of our cast decided they'd rather not risk becoming casualties in this grindhouse nightmare. 🎬

The Least Contested Chase

In MPO, Malachi Vazquez delivered the most anticlimactic "chase" sequence ever filmed, leading wire-to-wire at -6 with a 999-rated round that was 43 points above his usual standards. Meanwhile, Bryant Adams managed a respectable +3 for second place, bouncing back with a 921-rated performance that was still 14 points below par for him. The real plot twist? Landon Adams crashed from last week's eagle-fest dominance to a +7 finish with an 886 rating—a brutal 79-point nosedive that had him looking like he'd actually encountered the killer in the woods. 📉

Someone Actually Competed Here

The MA3 division provided the only legitimate drama of the day, with Kalen Adams clutching victory with a final-hole birdie in true Final Girl fashion. His opponent Stephen Dunton suffered through a devastating 7-hole cold streak that would make any horror director proud—nothing quite says "character development" like watching someone's round slowly fall apart over multiple holes. At least someone understood the assignment and delivered actual suspense. 🎯

One-Man Horror Show 🎭

Brian Hansen found himself in the loneliest position possible: a solo division winner in MP40. But hey, when you shoot 32 points above your rating for a -2 finish, you're basically the protagonist who survives by being too stubborn to die. Sometimes the best performance comes when there's nobody around to witness it—very fitting for our B-movie aesthetic.

Hole 18 Mass Exodus

Four different players managed eagles on hole 18, which in our horror narrative translates to a mass escape sequence where everyone suddenly figured out how to flee the premises effectively. The course showed its teeth elsewhere though, with multiple sole birdies scattered throughout the layout proving that The Fort wasn't going to make survival easy for anyone. It's almost like the course itself was the real antagonist all along. 🦅

Tag #1 Ghosts Event

Fear Broker

Malachi Vazquez's Fear Broker maintained its stranglehold on the #1 position despite its holder being completely absent from the Chase Scene. Talk about psychological warfare—this tag's power to orchestrate terror apparently works just as well from a distance. The Fear Broker's ability to "harvest, refine, and trade fear like any commodity" seems to be functioning perfectly, considering how it's keeping other players away from challenging its position. Sometimes the most effective villains are the ones you never see coming. 👻

Ace Pots: The True Villains

No aces, no CTPs, no Super Aces—just the continued growth of our monetary monsters. The ace pots survived another week to become even more menacing, which honestly feels appropriate for a Chase Scene episode where nobody actually caught anything worth catching. These pots are turning into the real antagonists of our story, growing larger and more intimidating with each passing week.

96% Complete, 4% Suspense

This Chase Scene delivered about as much pursuit as you'd expect from six players spread across 18 holes—which is to say, not much. The USWDGC 2026 fundraising crept forward with $6.50 in contributions, pushing us to 96% of the $10,000 goal. At least something's moving toward a satisfying conclusion around here. 💰

Credits Rolling Already? 🎬

With attendance dropping faster than a B-movie budget, you'd think we were already in the end credits sequence. But we've still got Week 7's "Third Act" coming up, where the remaining survivors will supposedly face tough choices between competition and cooperation. Given today's turnout, that might just mean deciding whether to play as a group or spread out across the course. The real horror? We're only at the 60% mark of this season, and it already feels like the final reel.
