Emerged from the toxic towns that sprouted like boils across the Deadlands, where the last sawbones learned that conventional medicine couldn't cure what the cursed frontier inflicted. The first Dust Doctor was said to brew remedies from grave dirt and rattlesnake venom, stitching together men who'd been left for dead by rival factions.
The name carries the acrid scent of antiseptic alcohol and the metallic tang of blood. It whispers of surgical tools worn smooth by use, of ledger books recording impossible survivals, of a silver flask that's 90% whiskey and 10% something else entirely.
The one who survives what kills others, who walks away from graveyards other survivors made. Bearers of this name have been written off, counted out, and left for the coyotes—and yet here they stand, breathing dust and defiance.
