Welcome back to the booth, where the humidity is rising and the gators are getting restless. Week 3 of the Black Bayou series brings us to 'Black Water Bend'—a fancy name for 'don't throw it in the swamp.'
The Territory
We are entrenched in the Deadlands' 'Blackwater League' territory. The narrative here is simple: survive the swamp or become one with the mud. The 'Wanted' tag system is in full effect, meaning every player is both hunter and hunted. It's all very dramatic for a sport where the main hazard is a rogue tree branch.
When & Where
Choose your own adventure. Start early and beat the heat, or wait for the 6 PM shotgun start and battle the shadows. Just make sure you check in before the spirits claim your card.
The Battleground
Dragonfly is a flat, wooded wetland course that rewards precision over power. Narrow fairways, marshy edges, and dense foliage mean an errant drive is likely lost to the Abyss. With 18 holes and a par around 56-57, it's a technical challenge that will expose any weaknesses in your bag—or your sanity.
Standings & Scandals
The leaderboard has thoughts this week. In RAD, Craig Bennett rode a wave of momentum to snatch the #1 spot from Anthony Kai, who tumbled to #3. Meanwhile, in RPA, Chris Fox overtook Nicholas Jennings for the lead. Tough break for Jennings, who hit an ace last week at Lehi Crossroads—winning $306.94 is nice, but losing the top spot stings worse than a mosquito in the eye.
