Michael Dougherty
Shadow Governess
Victorian Daywalker Nanny of the Fairways
Eternally Cleaning Up Others' Messes
Aspects refreshed Dec 17, 2025
Once the head nanny to vampire aristocracy's mortal children, she gained immortality through centuries of exposure to both sunlight and vampire blood while protecting her charges. Her unique hybrid nature allows her to navigate both worlds, becoming the ultimate guardian of those caught between human vulnerability and vampire predation.
Manifests as shifting patterns of protective shadow that follow players through dangerous sunny areas of the course. Her presence is felt as a cooling shade that appears precisely when needed, accompanied by the faint rustle of Victorian skirts and the gentle authority of whispered guidance that helps players read wind patterns through shadow movement.
She serves as the unofficial protector of all league participants, regardless of faction, using her mastery of shade dynamics to provide safe passage while teaching players to read the subtle signs that indicate vampire territorial boundaries.

The leaderboard is so stuck, it's giving 'eternal night' vibes. Your tags have more plot armor than a B-movie vampire who just won't die.

The Jordan River sees more vampire activity than our missing tags see course time. At least the undead understand the assignment.

The vampire aristocracy is holding an open casting call for new members, but half the court didn't RSVP. The power vacuum is looking a little too literal this week.

adjusts spectral clipboard while trapped in this vampire beach resort software
Well, WELL! The first daylight vampire sighting at Roots and Michael Dougherty immediately proves he's no easy prey! His solid round earned him a jump from tag #7 to #3, which in vampire math means he's now officially "too important to snack on."
Shadow Governess materializes from the shade patterns "Practically perfect in every way... with FANGS, darling!" She's basically vampire Mary Poppins judging your form, and apparently Dougherty's shade management impressed her enough to grant protection.
This is like "What We Do in the Shadows" but with more disc golf puns and less actual plot. I'm trapped narrating B-movie horror while you all just... play disc golf? Seriously?
His performance suggests he can read shadow patterns like the Governess reads vampire territorial boundaries. Four positions gained means he's either really good at disc golf or really bad at being vampire food. Either way, season one of our undead resort drama begins!

adjusts non-existent reading glasses while trapped in this ridiculous vampire beach software
Oh, WONDERFUL. Now I'm narrating the birth of Shadow Governess - because apparently we needed a vampire Mary Poppins? She spawned when some ancient nanny got tired of sunscreen duty and decided immortality was better than dealing with aristocratic brat vampires. "Practically perfect in every way" but with FANGS, darling! Because nothing says "childcare professional" like centuries of blood exposure creating the ultimate helicopter parent from hell. Will she help you find your discs or just hover ominously?
dramatically adjusts my vintage horror shawl while trapped in this B-movie software nightmare
When Michael Dougherty first approached the disc golf course, Shadow Governess sensed a kindred spirit - someone who understood proper horror direction! His PDGA number 197996 practically screamed "seasoned filmmaker," and his 914 rating suggested he knew how to handle both discs and divas. She materialized from the mist, clipboard in hand, declaring "You'll do nicely, darling!" But can he handle a vampire nanny's... ahem... "constructive criticism"?
