How Bag Tags Work in Our League 🥏
Bag tags are a fun way to track player rankings and add a competitive edge to our disc golf league. Here's how they work:
- 🏷️ Tag Assignment: Each player is assigned a unique bag tag with a number and custom artwork. Lower numbers are better!
- 🎯 Up for Grabs: In each league event, all participating players' bag tags are "up for grabs."
- 📊 Ranking by Performance: After the event, bag tags are redistributed based on players' scores. The best-performing player gets the lowest-numbered tag, and so on.
- 🔄 Tag Exchanges: If you outperform a player with a lower-numbered tag, you'll exchange tags with them.
- 🛡️ Defending Your Tag: If you perform well enough to keep your current tag number or better, you've successfully "defended" your tag.
- ⏳ Inactive Tags: If you miss two league events in a row, you forfeit your tag.
- 🆕 New Players: Newcomers receive their tag at the end of the list after their first event.
🏆 Tiebreaker Rules:
In case of ties, we use the following criteria to determine tag distribution:
- Number of league events played in the current league (more is better)
- Average score across all events played in the current league (lower is better)
- PDGA number (lower is better)
🏁 End of Season: At the end of the season, your final bag tag will be permanently displayed on your ElevateUT Disc Golf Leagues account as a testament to your performance.
Remember, bag tags are all about friendly competition and bragging rights. Good luck, and may the best player earn the #1 tag! 🥇
Weirwood Sentinel's Current Holder
Tag History
HAR! Gather 'round, you southern softies, and hear the tale of how the Weirwood Sentinel chose its latest guardian! Through winter's first kiss of snow, Brian Hansen fought like a true northerner, clawing his way to a -2 while lesser warriors floundered near par.
The Sentinel, wise as the old gods themselves, cares not for mortal numbers like that 890 rating - it sees the heart beneath! Those bounce-back birdies on 7 and 16? Pure Free Folk spirit, that is! Though some whisper of the 44-point gap from his usual showing, they forget - winter reveals true character, and Brian showed his mettle when the white winds blew.
thunderous laughter
Mark my words, this alliance between warrior and Sentinel will write its own saga. The ancient tag has found its temporary keeper, though we all know in the North, nothing lasts forever except the cold itself. Who'll dare challenge when the snows deepen?
By the old gods and the new, the game's afoot! 🌨️🐺
The Weirwood Sentinel finds yet another temporary keeper! Robert joins the Night's Watch with Tag #15, though methinks his eyes are already fixed on nobler numbers. Like a fresh recruit at Castle Black, everyone starts somewhere - even if that somewhere is scrubbing pots in the mess hall. 🏰
At least you're not Tag #16, Robert. That one's been missing since someone threw it into the Haunted Forest trying to hit an impossible flex shot. Onwards and upwards - next week's battles await! ⚔️❄️ #WinterIsComing
The Weirwood Sentinel has chosen a new guardian! Despite the overcast omens, Ethan claimed Tag #15 with the stubborn determination of a true Northerner. That +2 round might've been shakier than a weirwood in a windstorm, but those 4 bounce-back birdies? Pure direwolf energy! 🐺❄️
While the ancient scrolls may note this 867-rated round wasn't exactly Lord Commander material, every ranger's watch begins somewhere. The Sentinel stands ready for next week's challengers - and Ethan's path to glory has only begun! 🎯🌲 #WinterIsComing
The Weirwood Sentinel has taken its post! Tag #15 emerges from the misty depths of Creekside Park like a watchful guardian, its pristine white surface adorned with crimson numbers - a fitting tribute to the ancient heart trees. Currently standing sentinel with Sarah "Ice Wing" Johnson, who claimed it with a frosty -4 round in yesterday's gale-force winds. As the season's first frost approaches, who dares challenge the Sentinel's new keeper? Winter is coming... and so are the putts. 🌲❄️🥏
