Bag @ Beacon Hill
Bag: Be Careful What You Wish to Carry
The Story Begins
Danny Baskets, a 12-year-old disc golf dreamer, discovers a Zoltar fortune-telling machine near the Beacon Hill course and wishes to live a pro's life. He wakes up as a 30-year-old touring professional with a caddie, a media schedule, and a bag so heavy it might actually be cursed. Across nine weeks, Danny navigates the absurdity of professional disc golf—sponsor meetings where he doodles on contracts, interviews where he gives hilariously honest answers, and the mounting pressure of a reputation he never earned. Along the way, he discovers he's not the only wished-up kid on tour, befriends his suspicious rival, and ultimately faces the choice: find the Zoltar machine and go back, or stay and prove that sometimes the best pros are the ones who never forgot how to play.
Danny Baskets is a regular kid who just wants to throw discs with his friends at Beacon Hill. He's tired of being told he's 'too young' for the pro tour and makes an impulsive wish at a carnival Zoltar machine. He wakes up in a hotel room with a 25-pound tour bag, a caddie named Pocket knocking on his door, and a pro card with his adult face on it.
Choose Your Alliance
The Weight Bearers
This faction represents the adult world Danny has stumbled into—the responsibility, the pressure, and the unglamorous reality behind the dream. They oppose the Wishers through experience versus innocence, pragmatism versus magic, and understanding that growing up means choosing what burdens to accept.
The Zoltar Wishers
This faction embodies the childlike wonder and reckless optimism of making a wish without understanding consequences. They oppose the Weight Bearers through innocence versus experience, magic versus reality, and the thrill of transformation versus the burden of responsibility.
Meet the Legends
The Season Ahead
Beacon Wish
Week 1
Danny discovers his 'pro self' has a reputation for being eccentric and unpredictable—the tour expects weird behavior from him, which is both a blessing and a curse.
Heavy Carry
Week 2
Pocket seems to know things about Danny's past that don't match reality—he references tournaments Danny never played and victories he never won.
Hill Handlers
Week 3
A reporter asks Danny about 'the incident at Maple Hill three years ago' and Danny has no idea what she's talking about. His pro history has secrets even he doesn't know.
Sponsor Circus
Week 4
One sponsor representative seems to recognize that Danny isn't 'himself'—she keeps testing him with inside jokes that don't land.
Fairway Confession
Week 5
Vera warns Danny that the longer he stays, the harder it is to go back. She's been looking for her Zoltar machine for years—it moves, and it doesn't want to be found.
Beacon Rival
Week 6
During the match, Ace confronts Danny directly: 'You throw like you've never held a disc before, but you also throw like you've never been afraid of one. What are you?' Danny doesn't answer, but Ace's suspicion turns to curiosity.
Practice Panic
Week 7
Danny realizes the wish didn't just change him—it changed reality around him. Other people's lives are now tied to his decision.
Zoltar Found
Week 8
Ace Mandate finds Danny at the machine and, instead of exposing him, asks a simple question: 'If you go back, what happens to everyone who believed in the version of you that's here?' Danny doesn't have an answer.
Beacon Choice
Week 9
In the final scene, Danny sees a new kid standing near the Zoltar machine, quarter in hand. Danny walks over, not to stop them, but to tell them: 'Whatever you wish for, make sure you're ready to carry it.' The kid nods, pockets the quarter, and walks away. The machine's eyes dim. Some wishes are better left unmade—but some are worth every pound in the bag.
The Battlefield
Beacon Hill
5959 W Beacon Hill Blvd, Highland, UT 84003New layout for 2025! Beautiful views, variety of terrain, fitting snuggly in a quiet (and breezy) community park. -FEB 2026 UPDATE: New baskets getting installed Sat 2/21!- Incredible views of Utah Valley, Utah Lake, and the surrounding Rockies. Nestled in a mixed-use park at the base of Hog Hollow Canyon. The course has a (usually) dry creek and a few bluffs perfect for hucking discs off into well placed baskets into the woods below. This is a public course, but is privately designed, maintained, and funded by the local disc golf club. The first tee is located at the west far-end of parking lot. Dual Blue/Red tees for the main course; Blue is longer for intermediate and advanced players. Red is shorter for beginners, faster play, or for a more casual round. All holes are par 3 with exception of hole 5 which is a par 4. The front-9 is mostly open with lots of grass and longer holes. The back-9 (we call it the "Outback-9") is more technical and wooded. Work has been done to create clear fairways and greens but a spotter is recommended in the summer on some holes. Beacon Hill Park sits below the Suncrest saddle/pass, so it is frequently breezy. Heavier and more stable discs are recommended. The course also has a separate 9-hole par 2 putting course next to the fairway of hole 1. Since the beginning of 2025, several improvements and changes have been made to the course. The changes include a significant layout redesign. Several holes were removed, added, and adjusted to improve sight-lines of holes and the flow of the course. Other improvements in 2025: seven concrete fiber pads replaced dirt tee pads, a new par 4, new basket positions, a new starting hole, wood chips spread throughout course, and a lot more. 2026 will see continued improvements to the course such as new baskets, signage, and commencing work on uniform tee areas for blue tees. Thanks to the donations of the community and the city, a brand new set of 19 Innova DISCatcher baskets was installed on Feb 21, 2026! Several tournaments are held during the year. Check out the course Instagram @beaconhilldgc and discgolfscene.com for updates. Course tournaments are primary source of funds for improvements. Thank you for your support. Please note: Layout is limited by a confined space, retaining good neighbor relationships, and the desire for a fun 18 (x2!) hole layout. We are always looking to improve the course so if you have realistic suggestions, send feedback to designer/course contact.
A disc golf course unfolds at the foot of rugged Utah mountains, where the Wasatch Range rises dramatically against a wide-open sky. The setting sun casts golden light across rolling grass fairways dotted with mature trees, while the distant shimmer of Utah Lake reflects the clouds. The atmosphere is simultaneously serene and windswept—the constant breeze a defining character of this high-desert landscape. The front nine stretches across open terrain with long, bomber-friendly lines, while the back nine disappears into a cooler, wooded canyon atmosphere where shadows lengthen between the pines. Baskets sit nestled at the base of small bluffs and along the (usually) dry creek bed, creating elevation changes that add dimension to the shot variety. The color palette shifts from warm amber grasses and dusty earth tones to deep forest greens in the Outback-9, all framed by the perpetually changing sky of the Rocky Mountain front range. There's a feeling of hidden effort here—community love poured into a public space—where every well-placed basket and carved fairway represents someone who cared enough to build something in this blustery, beautiful corner of Utah Valley.
