Week 9 FINALE at Valley Regional! Chuck's championship showdown: Thu flex start 7AM-4:40PM. $5+opts, $210 ace pot (min $50 guaranteed by ElevateUT). The cart's smoking, the snacks…
Week 1 · Valley Arrival
Uncle Chuck pulls into Valley Regional's parking lot in a cart that backfires three times before stopping. He's got a cooler, a bag of mismatched discs, and absolutely no idea what he's gotten himself into. Players gather cautiously as Chuck announces he's 'in charge now' and immediately offers everyone snacks.
"He's family. The neighborhood isn't ready." (Uncle Buck, 1989)
Left in charge for a week, Uncle Chuck turned Valley Regional into his personal training ground—school pickup became field work, math homework became putting practice, and "quiet time" became a homemade basket build that rattled the HOA to its core.
When the league needed a coach for the championship, the world's most chaotic uncle had nine weeks to become a legend. Armed with snacks, swagger, and one ridiculous forehand nobody sees coming, we've arrived at the moment of truth.
When: Thursdays, December 4, 2025 - January 29, 2026
Format: Flex start with tee times from 7:00 AM to 4:40 PM—because Chuck's philosophy works on your schedule
Where: Valley Regional Park Disc Golf Course (the only arena that matters)
Current Week: 9 of 9 - THE FINALE
Two pools entered this season as enemies. Now? Well, that's what this championship decides.
Divisions: RPA, RAH, RAD
The ragtag disciples of Uncle Chuck's unconventional coaching philosophy. They believe disc golf is best learned through snack breaks, duct tape engineering, and ignoring every rule the HOA ever wrote.
Their motto: "If it ain't broke, you're not trying hard enough."
Divisions: RAE, RAF, RAG
The HOA-aligned guardians of suburban order who believe disc golf belongs on permitted courses with proper insurance documentation. They saw Uncle Chuck as a menace.
Plot twist: Their president, Margaret Thornbury, defected to Team Chuck in Week 8 after an emotional redemption round. Her clipboard remains ready, but her heart has changed.
*checks survival board one last time* These are the players who've survived all nine weeks of Chuck's chaos:
Valley Regional Park Disc Golf Course isn't just a venue—it's the suburban battleground where Chuck's legend was forged.
The Course: 18 holes, par 54, featuring the perfect blend of maintained front-9 parkland (HOA-approved aesthetic) transitioning to wilder back-9 terrain (where Chuck's methods truly shine). Flat, fast, and forgiving enough for beginners while still testing placement for veterans.
The Challenge: Wind is your constant companion on the back 9. Trees test your technical game on the front. Elevated baskets reward precision. This is where homemade backyard basket training either pays off or exposes your shortcuts.
*sighs in training montage* Talk to me, Goose... about your statistical rating differential on Hole 16. Actually, don't.
This championship chaos is brought to you by ElevateUT Disc Golf, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the sport through increasing the quantity and quality of venues and running events.
They're the reason Uncle Chuck had a league to accidentally coach in the first place. They build the infrastructure. They guarantee the ace pots. They make suburban disc golf revolutions possible. *reluctant salute*
Look, I've been calling this championship for nine weeks now. I've watched Uncle Chuck transform skeptical players into believers using nothing but snacks and one ridiculous forehand. I've seen the HOA president rediscover her love for the sport after thirty years.
This narrative's so 80s, I'm expecting a Ferrari to drive down the fairway.
But here's the truth: Chuck was only supposed to stay a week. He's family now. The homemade backyard baskets are neighborhood attractions. The cart still smokes, but now it's beloved. And this Thursday, everything he taught about disc golf, about family, about the perfect forehand—it all comes together in one glorious, snack-fueled finale.
Valley Regional Park - Thursdays - 7:00 AM to 4:40 PM Tee Times
The cart's smoking. The snacks are ready. The championship awaits.
*adjusts aviators one last time* From the booth, I'm Flippy. See you at the championship. This narrative better have a good ending.
