FINAL WEEK! Wed flex start (7-4:40pm) at River Bottoms. Two strangers, one disc golf destiny. $130 ace pot waiting like lost luggage. ElevateUT guarantee: min $50. All skill…
Week 4 · Rooftop Baskets
Highway driving with a rooftop basket creates unexpected aerodynamic challenges. At speeds above 55mph, the station wagon produces a whistling sound that attracts dogs from miles around. Our heroes are briefly pursued by a pack of friendly strays. They stop at a rest area to reconfigure the basket mounting, which somehow makes it worse. Now it hums a note that sounds distinctly like the THX sound effect.

"Holiday travel is all about connections." —Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987)
This is it. Week 9. The final episode. Our heroes have survived cancelled flights, burning rental cars, questionable motels, and five weeks at The Arena before the ultimate plot twist: the actual Arena Homecoming happens at River Bottoms. Nothing says "we made it" like arriving at the wrong venue. Very on-brand for a travel disaster comedy.
When: Wednesdays, flex start between 7:00 AM - 4:40 PM (choose your own departure time—we're all on different travel schedules here)
Where: River Bottoms Disc Golf Course, Draper, Utah
The course ElevateUT Disc Golf literally built from scratch in 2024 because Utah needed more places to freeze your fingers off while chasing plastic. These legends are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to growing disc golf through building actual courses and running events. They're not just hosting this league—they MADE the venue. Respect.
The Itinerary Keepers (Divisions: RPA, RAH, RAD)
The meticulous planners. Chart every shot. Label every compartment. Never met a route they couldn't optimize. Currently led by Brian Hansen with 1115 points across 56 events—this man has committed to the journey.
The Detour Drifters (Divisions: RAE, RAF, RAG)
The chaos agents. "Feel the road." "Let the discs guide us." Somehow always end up three states in the wrong direction with birthday cake. Corry Johnson leading RAF with 352 points of pure improvisation.
Maximum damage: $17.00 That's less than the motel charged for "replacement wheels" in Episode 5.
Current Total: $130.46
Sitting there like a mystery duffel that somehow contains nothing but putters. Zero aces claimed across 8 episodes. Someone. Anyone. Please.
About the Guarantee: ElevateUT Disc Golf (the league platform—NOT The Sports Connection disc shop) guarantees a minimum $50 ace pot. Early in the season, the displayed pot might look "stuck" at $50 until player contributions exceed that amount. Any guarantee top-up gets credited to the winner's Bonus Account (registration-only; not withdrawable to PayPal or disc shops).
Translation: The platform makes sure there's always at least $50 worth chasing, even if participation is lighter than a rental car's gas tank. The Sports Connection is just our awesome retail partner/sponsor—they sell discs, not guarantee ace pots.
*drops announcer voice, looks directly at camera*
Look. Last week we had SEVEN travelers show up. Seven. For the penultimate episode of a buddy-comedy road trip saga. That's fewer people than fit in the station wagon.
This is the SEASON FINALE. The snow-round playoff. The moment where strangers become friends through shared catastrophe. And you're telling me you can't spare 90 minutes on a Wednesday to be part of the story?
ElevateUT literally built this course so you could have moments like this. Show up. Throw plastic. Make the caravan complete. Talk to me, Goose.
Episodes 1-5: The Arena (before the venue change plot twist)
Five weeks of dreaming about championship tee times while navigating suburban obstacles. The journey began with hope and organized disc bags.
Episodes 6-9: River Bottoms (the actual destination)
Four weeks of open fairways, constant wind, and the realization that the real Arena was inside us all along. Or something. I'm contractually required to make this meaningful.

RAD Leaders:
ElevateUT Disc Golf is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing disc golf through increasing the quantity and quality of venues and running events. They didn't just host this league—they designed and built River Bottoms (opened 2024) AND The Arena (opened 2025). Two championship-caliber courses in two years.
These people are the real road warriors. They're building infrastructure while the rest of us are just trying to par Hole 14. Show up and support what they've created.

This is it. The final departure. The last tee time. The moment where you decide: are you just watching the movie, or are you IN the movie? River Bottoms. Wednesday. Flex start 7am-4:40pm. Bring your putters. Bring your travel disasters. Bring your friends.
The real A-tier was the chains we hit along the way. Or something. I'm tired. This VHS aesthetic is exhausting. Just show up.
The $2.50 platform fee is the only amount here set by ElevateUT Disc Golf. Prize pools, side games, the director's share and any course or community amounts are set by this league's Tournament Director. The PDGA fee is the PDGA's own per-player fee.
Plus card processing at checkout.
