Hides What It Shows Receipt Says You Were There Redacted But Not Gone

Aspects refreshed Jul 18, 2026

The Bureau's document processing systems occasionally malfunction during high-traffic periods, tearing portions of transaction records during automated filing. These partial documents drift into the Containment Zone as Torn Receipts - fragments of score submissions, bonus payouts, clearance transfers, and audit findings that can never be fully verified. The Bureau denies responsibility, claiming the tears are 'processing artifacts,' but agents have noticed that Torn Receipts tend to appear most often for players whose full records would raise uncomfortable questions.

A brittle 3x5 inch document with a faint blue Bureau watermark, featuring a jagged tear pattern along one edge where critical information was removed. The remaining visible content includes a date stamp, file number, and partial monetary amount, while the recipient field and purpose line are completely absent. The tear edges contain microscopic编码 in their pattern - skilled archivists can sometimes reconstruct what was removed by matching the tear geometry. The document cannot be photographed; only physical possession allows viewing.

Holders of Torn Receipts possess tangible evidence that something occurred during a specific event, but the missing details create more uncertainty than clarity. Other players must decide whether to trust the partial information or assume the holder is concealing something more significant. The Torn Receipt can be used to challenge Bureau records, verify attendance at events where one might have been 'redacted,' or cast suspicion on competitors by revealing partial evidence without context.
