The Redaction Remembers What You Don't
I Know Too Much And Nothing
Aspects refreshed Jul 04, 2026
Tear Lines are the physical scars left behind whenever the Bureau performs a major redaction on a player's permanent record. The act of blacking out sensitive information - whether performance anomalies, attendance gaps, or clearance violations - tears a hole in the fabric of bureaucratic reality. Over decades of systematic censorship, these scars accumulated into the ethereal strips that now drift through the Containment Zone, appearing on scorecards, event records, and player files. The Bureau claims they're meaningless artifacts of the redaction process, but agents whisper that they're echoes of the original truths - shadows of the information that was buried but refuses to fully disappear.
Tear Lines manifest as jagged fragments of aged manila material, approximately 3 inches in length, with one edge smooth as if cut by a precision blade and the other edge irregular and torn. The substance feels like paper but carries an unexpected metallic coolness to the touch. Along the torn edge runs a faint phosphorescent line that pulses with an otherworldly blue-green glow, visible only in darkness and intensifying when near classified documents. They are impossible to photograph or capture digitally - only those physically present can witness them. When pressed against a player's file, a Tear Line reveals the exact dimensions and shape of any redactions without exposing the hidden content.
Tear Lines provide holders with a unique form of asymmetric intelligence within the Containment Zone. Unlike standard clearance levels that determine what information you can access, the Tear Line reveals the STRUCTURE of hidden information - you can see that someone has secrets and gauge their significance by the size and shape of the redaction, without ever learning the truth. This creates persistent paranoia in competitive matchups: a player facing a Tear Line holder never knows if their hidden information has been partially exposed, while the Tear Line holder lives with the knowledge that their own redactions can be mapped but not read.

Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Born when a censor's heavy hand ripped the fabric of a permanent record. Tag 26 is a jagged shard of bureaucratic spite—cold, glowing blue in the dark, and refusing to appear on camera. It doesn't want a bag; it wants to expose your redactions. A hostile witness with a very sharp edge, waiting to cut through your clearance level.
adjusts headset Bobby Schneck just claimed Tag 26, the Tear Line. It’s a jagged piece of redacted reality that glows blue when nobody’s looking. The Bureau filed this under "lost property," but let's be honest: it found him. Another clearance level breached.
