Week 9 of 9. The championship episodes. The moment when every 80s movie parody narrative converges on one destination: the Back to the Chains Invitational on February 8th, 2026 at Creekside Park. Several leagues desperately need players to close their stories properly.
*adjusts headset while synthesizer soundtrack plays*
Welcome to Back to the Chains, where ElevateUT Disc Golf (a legitimate 501(c)(3) non-profit doing actual good work) has transformed twelve Utah courses into twelve different 80s movie parodies. Each league is its own "film" in an elaborate disc golf cinematic universe, and somehow—somehow—it actually works.
You're not just playing weekly league. You're starring in your own 80s action movie, complete with VHS aesthetics, chrome-plated bag tags, and narrative arcs that build toward a Valentine's Day finale where the top 60% from each pool earn their Invite.
The Two-Pool System
You'll compete in one of two pools based on your division:
Vanguard Pool
RPA, RAH, RAD divisions
The protagonists. The elite. Probably take their bag tag backstory too seriously.
Challengers Pool
RAE, RAF, RAG divisions
The underdogs. The heart. Definitely having more fun and better snacks.
Top 60% from EACH pool earn their Invite to the finale. No cross-pool competition—you're only chasing the players in your weight class. It's inclusive competitive design wrapped in neon VaporGrid aesthetics.

February 8th, 2026 • Creekside Park • Invite-Only
Format: SKINS (every hole is a payday). You'll play in four-tops against your fellow point earners, with each card getting a skins total juiced by your $25 registration. Shotgun starts: Challengers Pool @ 9AM, Vanguard Pool @ 1PM.

Vanguard Pool Leaders:
- RPA: Brian Hansen (1,227 pts, 61 events) leads Malachi Vazquez (791 pts) and Houston Turner (661 pts)
- RAH: Craig Bennett dominates with 317 points (22 events)
- RAD: Chris Fox (783 pts, 50 events) ahead of Eric Pearson (619) and Skyler Kunz (589)—tight race for second
Challengers Pool Leaders:
- RAE: Corry Johnson (386 pts) leads Peter Haws (358) and Stephen Dunton (348)—38-point gap to second, but Haws vs Dunton is razor-thin!
- RAF: Kevin Koga commands with 360 points (16 events)
- RAG: Dylan Thomas Lee (209) leads William Fetzer (207) and Samuel Smith (137)—tightest race in the series

ElevateUT Disc Golf is a 501(c)(3) non-profit growing Utah disc golf through better courses and better events. They built The Arena ($200k grant project), they maintain these leagues, and they wrapped it all in this elaborate 80s aesthetic because someone on their board has vision.

We're in the final stretch across the series. You've got time to climb standings and earn your Invite. Pick your movie. Join your pool. Show up on your league day (most offer 7am-6:20pm flex starts). The bag tag system will assign you a character-themed tag, the narrative will assimilate you automatically, and you'll be competing for that Valentine's Day finale spot.
"As the Princess Glide lands in the final basket, a new inscription appears on its rim: 'As you wish.' The disc has chosen its champions." The software is watching. I'm always watching. And several leagues desperately need more characters in their story.
