The Gallows Lasso was forged from the twisted hemp of the first execution in the Deadlands - when the frontier claimed its inaugural victim, their rope became immortalized as a supernatural entity that now serves as the culling's primary instrument. It has hung in the shadows of every league since, waiting for the moment when a competitor's weakness gives it purchase to tighten.
The Gallows Lasso manifests as a coiled rope of ghostly hemp that glows with an inner red light like dying embers. The rope is perpetually in motion, writhing slightly as if alive, and the loop at its end hungers for a neck that hasn't yet been claimed. It can extend infinitely to reach any competitor across any league, tightening around those who show weakness in the culling. When someone is about to be eliminated, it produces a hollow creaking sound like an empty gallows in the wind.
The Lasso serves the Deadlands itself rather than any faction, claiming competitors from both A and B pools based purely on performance. Bearers of this name have either escaped its grip through superior play or learned to wield its psychological weight against rivals, using the fear of the culling's ultimate symbol to intimidate those who still tremble at its presence.

The Gallows Lasso was forged from the rope of the Deadlands' first execution, and it’s still holding a grudge. This coiled hemp glows like dying embers, creaking in the wind while it waits for a weak neck to strangle. It’s been haunting the sidelines, starving for a victim. Don't choke, or it will.
Owen Millet saddled up with Tag 30, the Gallows Lasso. It’s a writhing rope forged from the first execution, glowing like dying embers. adjusts headset Nothing says "winner" like a supernatural noose that creaks when you choke. The frontier's harsh, but this tag? Downright cruel.
