Evidence Is Absence Checked Out Forever Your Record’s a Blank Tape

Aspects refreshed Feb 11, 2026

Manifested from the accumulated static of thousands of unrecorded rounds and mysteriously missing player entries, the Catalog Inquisition arose as the Chaintrix's internal investigation unit, questioning why certain performances were cataloged while others vanished into magnetic void. It emerged not to celebrate what was documented, but to interrogate what wasn't - proving that in a system built on proof-of-presence, unexplained absence is the greatest evidence of all.

Takes physical form as an infinite wall of neon-lit index cards in Blockbuster gold and midnight blue, each card perpetually flickering between "CHECKED OUT" and "MISSING FROM CATALOG" status. A barcode scanner beam sweeps across the wall like an interrogation room searchlight, pausing at gaps where player records should exist but don't. The cards reorganize themselves constantly, cross-referencing all 16 simulation catalogs simultaneously, revealing patterns of absence that suggest either system failure or deliberate omission. When it focuses on a specific player, their card pulls forward and expands into a full dossier, but the scanner always highlights what's NOT there - the rounds without records, the leagues without entries, the explanations that were never filed.

Acts as the internal affairs division of the Chaintrix itself, questioning whether the system is accurately cataloging truth or selectively editing reality across all 16 movie simulations. It doesn't just track who showed up - it investigates why some absences are documented while others leave no trace, making it the authority that questions authority.
