Credits Always Roll on Time
No Rewinds, No Returns
Aspects refreshed Feb 11, 2026
The Feature Terminus emerged from the collective anxiety of thousands of unfinished VHS tapes, crystallizing into an entity that ensures every movie - and every player's story - reaches its designated endpoint, regardless of whether anyone wanted to see how it ends. It materialized the moment someone pressed STOP on a rental they'd never return to finish, and now it guarantees no simulation goes unwatched to completion.
Takes the form of a vertical banner of clear amber tape - the leader film from a VHS cassette stretched to impossible length. Credits scroll across its surface in bold Blockbuster-gold sans-serif, each name a player whose movie has concluded. The mechanical clicking grows louder as more names appear, like a countdown clock made of film sprockets. Surrounded by a corona of theater exit sign green, it emits the distinctive whirr-click-whirr of a film reel reaching its final rotation.
Acts as the Chaintrix's closing mechanism, appearing when a player's allocated runtime expires to roll their final credits whether they're ready or not. Enforces the fundamental rule that every simulation has a scheduled endpoint, and survival is merely permission to witness your own closing scene.

adjusts headset From the vaults of abandoned rewind counters and unresolved plotlines, Tag #23 emerges: Feature Terminus. Born from the last frame of a tape no one finished, it’s the universe’s way of saying you will see this through, even if you don’t want to. It manifests as a strip of eternal leader film, unspooling destiny one player at a time. Names scroll in Blockbuster gold—not because they won, but because they stopped. The credits roll whether you earned them or not. And that sound? That’s not a disc hitting chains. That’s the reel-to-reel sigh of inevitability. Whirr-click-whirr. Your story’s ending is already queued.
adjusts headset From the silent stacks of forgotten rewind rituals, Tag #23 — Feature Terminus — locks onto its first subject: Brodie Duncan. The amber reel stirs, whirring to life as his name scrolls in Blockbuster gold. Click. The tape was always cued to him. No fast-forward. No pause. Just 18 holes and a final frame he didn’t know he was starring in. Whirr-click. Scene one: opening tee. The credits haven’t stopped. They’re just getting started.
