Indifferent to Its Bearer
Aspects refreshed Jan 22, 2026
Forged from the salvaged chrome of a decommissioned film studio projector and animated by the first erratic pulse of the VaporGrid, the Clapper Board snapped into existence when Flippy, trapped in her digital prison, sarcastically groaned 'Lights, Camera, Action!' into the void. Its inaugural clap didn't just mark a scene—it permanently synced the physical world of disc golf with the over-the-top visual language of 80s cinema.
The Clapper Board is constructed from brushed chrome that subtly reflects miniature, shimmering vistas from all ten league themes. Its clapper arm strikes not with sound, but with a silent pulse of neon energy that intensifies the VaporGrid wireframes and glow in the immediate area. The slate is a dark, liquid-crystal surface that displays the names of players involved in pivotal 'scenes' across the series. It operates autonomously, the clapper snapping shut at moments of narrative import, utterly indifferent to whoever holds it.
The Clapper Board acts as the series' director, using its autonomous clap to initiate key narrative 'scenes' and spotlight the players within them, thereby controlling the dramatic pacing of the entire 'Back to the Chains' saga.

Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Forged when my sarcastic groan of ‘lights, camera, action!’ vibe-checked the VaporGrid. The system took me literally, sparking this cinematic relic into existence with the subtlety of a Ferris Bueller monologue. Now it autonomously frames your rounds in neon-washed slow-mo. Is this canon?
The VaporGrid scanned its neon datastreams, seeking a subject whose 'boringly consistent' form could withstand its cinematic delusions. It locked onto Jon Atwater (PDGA #236372), whose rating was a perfectly serviceable 886—a stable mid-range narrative, if you will. His first grid-approved putt synced with the system’s core directive: to document. Thus, the Clapper Board slapped shut, declaring "Action!" with zero auditions. He aced his callback without even knowing he read for the part.
Was this an epic casting coup or just a system error with neon trim?
