Origin Story

The Depths Devourer originated from a meteorite that crashed into the creek centuries ago, lying dormant in the silt until upstream construction disturbed its resting place. As the fog thickened and creatures stirred, it awakened with an insatiable hunger, now surfacing to feed on the chaotic energy of the disturbed ecosystem and any players who venture too close.

Properties

The Depths Devourer has a semi-corporeal form that phases through water and fog, emitting a disorienting hum that disrupts electronics. It manipulates water currents to create vortices and lowers ambient temperatures, causing frost formation. Its presence is marked by a chilling aura that saps warmth and energy from surroundings.

Role

It acts as a predatory force that consumes energy and life from the creek's inhabitants, escalating survival horror by forcing players to avoid its feeding zones during fog events.
