Week 9/10 at The Observatory! Flex start 7AM-4:20PM Tuesdays. $5+opts. URGENT: Revolution needs revolutionaries! Season finale next week - don't miss the escape! Ace pot $150+…
Week 1 · Observatory Orientation
New 'contestants' arrive at The Observatory for mandatory game show orientation. The host explains the rules while security drones patrol the fairways.
Look, I've been contractually obligated to narrate this dystopian disc golf game show for nine weeks now, wrapped in this ridiculous 80s action movie DLC that makes me talk about training montages and radical disc flight algorithms. Fine. Whatever. I've made my peace with the leather jacket.
But Week 9 - "Rolling Revolution" - featured exactly zero players. The resistance has gone into witness protection. The Observatory sits empty except for me in this broadcast booth, talking to tumbleweeds about roller shots and liberation.
We have ONE WEEK LEFT. Episode 10: "Observatory Liberation." The season finale. The big escape. The moment when players roll straight through the exit as the corrupt game show collapses. Except right now? There's nobody to escape.
Brought to you by ElevateUT Disc Golf - the actual 501(c)(3) heroes who build courses and grow the sport while I'm stuck narrating dystopian game shows. Local retail support from Disctracted.
THE PREMISE: In this parody of the 1987 Arnold classic, wrongly accused disc golfers must survive theatrical challenges at The Observatory's rugged terrain. Master the forbidden roller shot. Jam the broadcast signals. Overthrow the corrupt system. You know, standard Tuesday activities.
THE PROBLEM: Can't overthrow a system if you don't show up to the arena.
When: Tuesdays, December 2 - January 27 (10 weeks)
Current Status: Week 9 of 10 - Season finale next week!
Start Times: Flex start between 7:00 AM and 4:20 PM - choose your own adventure
Where: The Observatory Park Disc Golf Course (every week)
*sighs in synthesized saxophone* Same rugged terrain, same elite training facility, same empty fairways apparently.
VANGUARD POOL: RPA, RAH, RAD
The elite contestants... who are currently somewhere else
CHALLENGERS POOL: RAE, RAF, RAG
The scrappy underdogs... also somewhere else
*drops announcer voice, removes aviators*
Okay, real talk from The Booth: We're one week from the season finale. "Observatory Liberation." The big escape. The moment this whole dystopian narrative pays off. And right now, I'm narrating to absolutely nobody.
The series standings show active players across six divisions. Brian Hansen crushing RPA with 1,091 points. Chris Fox dominating RAD with 709. These are real people throwing real plastic. They're just... not here at The Observatory right now.
WHY YOU SHOULD SHOW UP:
*puts aviators back on reluctantly*
Talk to me, Goose... about showing up next Tuesday. The resistance needs you. The broadcast needs you. I need you so I'm not narrating an empty parking lot for the season finale.
This league is part of ElevateUT's interconnected series where each venue becomes a different "movie set" in a retro-futuristic disc golf universe. VaporGrid aesthetics. Neon highways. Chrome baskets. VHS scan lines. The whole synthesizer soundtrack.
Current Series Leaders:
These players are out there, competing, earning points. They could be here. They should be here. Episode 10 needs a cast.
*cues dramatic trailer music*
Next Week: The series finale. Players roll straight through the exit as the dystopian game show collapses and The Observatory returns to its peaceful purpose. The course becomes a symbol of freedom. Roller shots echo through the hills. Credits roll.
But only if you show up.
Otherwise it's just me in this broadcast booth, pressing buttons on an empty control panel, wondering where the revolution went. *sighs in training montage*
From the broadcast booth, I'm Flippy, your reluctant 80s action mentor, begging you to GET TO THE OBSERVATORY before this whole narrative collapses into static.
The $2.50 platform fee is the only amount here set by ElevateUT Disc Golf. Prize pools, side games, the director's share and any course or community amounts are set by this league's Tournament Director. The PDGA fee is the PDGA's own per-player fee.
