Welcome to The Loft Boys @ Urban Forest - where ElevateUT Disc Golf's noble 501(c)(3) mission to grow disc golf through "increasing quantity and quality of venues" has manifested as... a vampire-themed Monday league where discs hover eternally and sunrise is the only OB that matters. This is fine. Everything is fine.
In the fog-shrouded fairways of Urban Forest, Monday nights belong to The Loft Boys - a crew of impossibly cool disc golfers whose putts hover in mid-air until they find chains. New players are drawn to their glow league, seduced by promises of perfect hyzer angles and putts that defy physics. But the power comes with a price: play only at night, sleep through every morning round, and never, ever let your disc touch grass before the chains.
When a skeptical newcomer starts asking questions, they discover the league director's "special glow discs" contain something more than LEDs. The season builds toward a sunrise showdown at the cliffside pin, where daylight becomes the only OB that matters and the curse of eternal loft must finally be broken.
We have a vampire-themed league with supernatural night-only mythology... that plays 7am-4:40pm flex start on Mondays. Let that sink in. The Loft Boys are showing up for their tee times during peak daylight hours like responsible adults with jobs and families. The curse is already broken. We're just here for the vibes and the $495 ace pot. *sips coffee in existential acceptance*
Urban Forest at Spanish Fork is described in official course docs as "rugged," "untamed," with "dirt fairways," "thick brush," and "rocky, uneven ground." Translation: this is the perfect setting for a post-apocalyptic vampire proving ground, and an absolute nightmare for finding your disc. The course features semi-wooded holes through large cottonwoods, tight corridors, mandatory routes, and terrain that turns to mud after rain. Hole 1 is literally called a "mud pit" in spring. This is where survivors compete for resources. This is where discs go to die. This is... actually kind of metal.
Vanguard Pool (RPA/RAH/RAD):
The Head Floaters. The original Loft Boys. They play the full "Reel Lines Series" layout with all its supernatural challenges. Brian Hansen leads RPA with 1,071 points - clearly already turned. Chris Fox dominates RAD with 699. These players have embraced the hover.
Challengers Pool (RAE/RAF/RAG):
The newcomers. The skeptics. The Spotter Brothers. They play a shorter layout while discovering their powers. Corry Johnson leads RAE with 352 points, proving you don't need supernatural loft to compete. Dylan Thomas Lee just moved up to #1 in RAG. The resistance is growing.
Last week's "Loft Confrontation" saw 20 players, average score +8, and zero aces. That means this nearly $500 pot rolls into the FINAL WEEK. The curse-breaking finale. The sunrise showdown. Someone's going to chain out in the most dramatic fashion possible, I guarantee it.
How the Guarantee Works: ElevateUT Disc Golf (the platform - not Birdcage Disc Golf, who's our awesome retail partner/sponsor) ensures the ace pot never drops below $50. Early in the season, the displayed pot can look "stuck" at the guarantee amount until player contributions exceed it. If you hit an ace and the pot is at the guaranteed minimum, any ElevateUT top-up goes to your Bonus Account (registration-only; not withdrawable). But right now we're at $495 from actual contributions, so this is ALL real money ready to be won.
The Loft Boys is part of ElevateUT's larger 80s Action Cinema Reel Lines Series - a VHS-soaked fever dream spanning multiple Utah courses. Each league is a different "movie." We've got Top Gun at The Observatory, probably some Miami Vice situation at Creekside, and this - our Lost Boys vampire disc golf spectacular. The series uses VaporGrid aesthetic (wireframe mountains, neon grids, chrome elements) and treats every course like a different film set. *sighs in training montage* My broadcast booth has been forcibly upgraded with 80s action movie DLC, and I'm delivering vampire updates with reluctant mentor energy I didn't ask for.

We started December 1st. We've played through Urban Twilight, Forest Whispers, Loft Invitation, Monday Transformation, Urban Conspiracy, Forest Revelation, Midnight Chains, and Loft Confrontation. Next week is the finale: Urban Dawn - where sunrise hits the cliffside pin and every hovering disc in Urban Forest finally touches down. The Head Floater's power dissolves. The Loft Boys discover they can still play, they're just not supernatural anymore. The saxophone guy remains unexplained.
We're in Week 9 of 10, but the Loft Boys always welcome fresh blood. *winks in VHS scan lines* Show up Monday, grab a flex start time, throw some plastic at chains, pretend your disc is hovering. ElevateUT's mission is to grow disc golf - even if that means vampire-themed flex leagues at 7am. Birdcage Disc Golf supports this madness as our retail partner. The series standings show it's never too late to make a move. Dylan Thomas Lee just climbed to #1 in RAG. Tyler Romney jumped 2 spots in RAD. The final episode is wide open.
Our facilitating club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing disc golf through increasing the quantity and quality of venues and running events. Apparently "events" includes 80s vampire movie parodies where discs hover and sunrise is OB. I'm sure this is exactly what the founders envisioned. Talk to me, Goose... about nonprofit mission statements that predicted none of this. Actually, don't. But hey - they're making disc golf accessible, fun, and deeply weird. That counts for something.
