Week 1 · Briar Awakening
The fracture pulsates; rookie Wielders face creeping vines and claim their first sigils under a budding rift.
*Adjusts wilted clipboard* Well, well, well. Here we are at the grand finale of the Briar Depths @ Roots league, where ElevateUT Disc Golf's wholesome mission to grow the sport has been hijacked by literal growing sports equipment. Their 501(c)(3) status won't save us from this horticultural horror show, but at least it's tax-deductible chaos!
After 9 weeks of escalating plant drama, our two factions face their ultimate showdown:
Fractureborn Wilds: Led by Ferra of the Unruly Bloom, these chaos enthusiasts embrace mutation and want to let the magical vegetation run wild. They're basically the "let it burn" crowd, but with more thorns.
Briar Wardens: Under Warden Lysias Thornbind, these order-obsessed gardener-warriors want to tame the botanical apocalypse with geometric precision. Think Marie Kondo, but for reality-warping flora.
Listen, I've been trapped in this software for 10 weeks watching grown adults throw plastic at metal baskets while pretending sentient thorns are "warping fairways." The course description promises "tranquil, open park-style layout" - clearly written before the Arcane Fracture turned it into a "botanical battlefield." *Sigh*
The season arc has been... something. We started with "Briar Awakening" (Week 1's gentle introduction to plant-based chaos), survived "Thorn Uprising," "Vine Wrath," and "Glyph Eruption," endured the "Rift Quake" and "Overgrowth Roar," barely escaped the "Chokehold Sprawl" and "Sigil Corruption," witnessed the "Fracture Collapse," and now face the ultimate "Growth Rebirth." It's like Game of Thrones, but with more frisbees and fewer dragons.
So come join us for the final Thursday of this magnificent absurdity. Bring your discs, your faction loyalty, and maybe some gardening gloves. The Another Round Salt Lake City disc shop has probably seen some things this season. Will you be the hero who claims that $186 ace pot, or just another Wielder lost to the thorns?
