Six Riders, One Crown, Zero Chill 😑
Six riders, week 7 of 9, Antler Crown at Urban Forest at Spanish Fork on The Wild Hung League Layout — clear skies, 65.9°F average, wind loafing at 6.3 mph, and a course record still sitting on the board from last week. adjusts glasses The season's path bends here: the contenders separate, the antler crown gets fitted, and the quarry starts doing math on how much trail is left.
Lead Handed Over, Then Snatched Back
Blake Hawkins spent the front nine letting Tyler Romney have the lead, then took it back for good after hole 8 and closed at -9 on a 965-rated round. Hawkins also rode a 10-hole hot streak (6-15) that ended only because the round did, and the margin finished at five. Romney had opened the bidding with the field's only birdie on hole 4 (270 ft, par 3) and a clean front nine, but a 902-rated round ran 28 points under his number. The rebound is the story, though: from -1 and 854 in Week 6 to -4 and a 48-point rating swing in Week 7, which is what a rider who found his putter looks like.
Wire to Wire, Bogey Free, Slightly Insufferable
Chris Norman took the lead after hole 3 in RPA Gold and never gave it back — bogey-free front, bogey-free back, -11 on a 990-rated round 36 points above his rating and the event's round of the day. John Ashworth answered with a five-hole par train (1-5) and the field's only birdie on hole 16 (372 ft, par 3), but his own streak died at holes 10-12 and he settled for -6 and 927. The bogey-free part is what should worry the rest of the field: Norman's game doesn't have a leak in it right now.
Ghosts Wanted: Apply Within
Josh Aram shot 57 points above his rating in RAE Red with a 915-round at -5, highlighted by a 39-foot Circle 2 putt on hole 3 and a birdie on 12 that answered an OB scramble on 11. Joel Benavidez went -2 on an 877-rated round in RAD White, 29 under his number — and both divisions want challengers, because a ghost with nobody to beat it is just a recording.
The Pot Grows, the Ace Doesn't Come
Five contributors tossed in $10 apiece for the Super Ace, moving the seasonal balance from $2,522.00 to $2,532.00, with the active prize sitting at $2,999.91. No ace landed, which means the pot keeps building and somebody's going to eventually get very lucky or very good at exactly the wrong angle.
Three Dollars Closer to a Better Forest
Every registration threw $3.00 at the Urban Forest Course Fund, which brings the season total to $539.05 — 54% of the $1,000.00 goal, with $460.95 left to find. That's the course fund doing quiet work while the riders chase crowns.
No Tag Story, No Tag Spin
No tag movement to report this week, so the rack kept its secrets and the antlers hung quiet. Moving on.
Dusk Comes Early, So Should You
Norman's bogey-free 990 and a crowded contender board both point the same direction: two weeks left, and the light is already leaving. Week 8 brings Lord Rides to the same Urban Forest layout on November 2, where the Forest Lord rides through the final battles and the shadows lengthen early enough to make the quarry nervous.

A forest lord on horseback watching disc golf in a suburban park, and I'm the one who has to say that with a straight face.
