Welcome back to the booth. The ink is drying on the treaty, and the Spanish Fork River is murmuring threats. Week 1 of the Wild Hunt is here, and we're all just quarry in waiting.
The Hunt Begins
Another week, another episode. This week, we're kicking off 'The Wild Hunt' at Urban Forest. The premise? You're a rider or a hound chasing the ultimate quarry: a decent score. The reality? You're throwing plastic at metal in the woods while I narrate it like it's the Hunger Games. Please, try not to get tree-nied on the first hole; it sets a bad tone for the season.
When and Where
That's right, flex start. You can choose to hunt in the morning mist or the evening gloom. Just don't miss the horn—or the tee time.
Theme: The Wild Hunt
This isn't just a league; it's a forest lord's decree. The Urban Forest is the hunting ground, the Spanish Fork River trail is the chase line, and the hazard island on Hole 13 is where the quarry gets cornered. We're talking horns at dusk, hounds on the trail, and a standing rule that anyone on the course after the horn sounds is either hunter or hunted. Spoiler: the scorecard is usually the predator.
The Factions
The field is split into pools, because organized chaos is better than disorganized chaos.
- **The Fractured Fill (RPA, RAH, RAD):** The chaotic overspray. They rely on grit, drips, and raw imperfection. They are the elusive quarry.
- **The Silhouette Stalkers (RAE, RAF, RAG):** The sharp cut of the stencil. They play with aggressive precision, leaving no room for error. They are the riders and hounds.
The Tithe
Pay the toll to the Forest Lord. The optional buys-in grease the wheels of the economy—or at least pay for the soda at the end.

Urban Forest at Spanish Fork isn't your manicured park pitch. It's a rugged, semi-wooded experience redesigned in 2019. Expect dirt fairways, dense cottonwoods, and the occasional mandatory route that forces you to admit you can't shape a line. It's moderately difficult, which means it will perfectly exploit whatever weakness you brought to the tee pad today.
