The Dust Psalm Sings Through Me
Their Ghosts Play Through Me

Dust Psalm was forged in the first culling when the frontier was young - as the weak fell and the strong survived, their final moments transformed into spectral sound waves that coalesced into a single, eternal melody. The Dust Psalm exists as the Deadlands' collective memory, a primordial artifact that has witnessed every score, every victory, and every elimination since the cursed territory first claimed its victims.
The Dust Psalm appears as a weathered leather tag, its surface etched with intricate tattoo-style musical notation in faded black and crimson ink. Embedded within the leather are tiny desert minerals that catch the light, creating subtle golden glints. When the tag moves, it produces faint harmonic tones - like wind chimes made of dust and memory. The tag pulses with warmth when the bearer achieves a harmonious score, growing cold and silent when discordant notes of failure approach.
The Dust Psalm serves as a living memorial - when a competitor bears this tag, they carry the accumulated songs of all survivors, their victories adding new verses to the eternal hymn while their defeats echo as dissonant notes. The tag grants its bearer access to the collective wisdom of past survivors, allowing them to 'hear' the patterns of successful rounds and avoid the mistakes that led to others' culling.

Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Forged from the spectral whimpers of the first culling, Tag 74 is the Dust Psalm: a leather shingle with a superiority complex. It hums tragic dirges when you miss and warms only for birdies. It’s the Deadlands’ way of singing you off the course, one petty note at a time.
Tanner Atwater found Tag 74, the Dust Psalm. It hums tragic dirges on bogeys and warms for birdies. Now he carries the Deadlands' collective memory in his bag. A leather shingle with a superiority complex. What a duet.
