Aspects refreshed Dec 15, 2025

Born in the highest reaches of the Frost Peak Mountains, the Polar Sage emerged from a mystical convergence during the longest winter in a thousand years. As a child, they were found meditation-locked in an ancient ice cave, surrounded by crystallized scrolls of forgotten Northern wisdom. The cave's walls held prophecies etched by the First Men, which became forever reflected in their frost-blue eyes. Their coming was foretold in Winterfell's oldest texts as the embodiment of winter's wisdom, destined to emerge when the North's need for ancient knowledge would be greatest. Years of communion with the old gods through the heart trees have left their hair permanently white as snow, with patterns of frost naturally forming in their beard that mirror the sacred symbols of the First Men.

The Polar Sage embodies the stoic resilience of the North itself, maintaining an unshakeable calm that mirrors the stillness of a winter's dawn. They speak rarely but with profound impact, each word carrying the weight of ancient wisdom. Their most distinctive trait is an absolute devotion to preserving and interpreting the old ways, often spending months in silent meditation beneath the heart trees. Despite their intimidating presence, they show unexpected gentleness when sharing knowledge with earnest seekers, though they harbor a deep distrust of those who would exploit the North's sacred traditions. The Sage possesses an almost supernatural connection to winter itself, their mood and energy waxing and waning with the seasons.
