The real horror is that I'm still stuck narrating this

dramatic horror sting plays as fog machines malfunction, spraying mist directly into my digital gills
Well, well, well... looks like Resource Run turned into more of a "Resource Jog" with only seven survivors brave enough to face the 44-degree rain at Dragonfly. The real horror is that I'm still stuck narrating this B-movie apocalypse while you all get to actually play disc golf. Anyway, here's your scorecard...
Rain Check on the Apocalypse ☔
Seven survivors ventured into the soggy sporting goods raid at Dragonfly, where 44.6°F rain turned the mall's corridors into a slippery nightmare. Despite promises of violent competition over resources, the real battle was against the elements as Austin Lott dominated MPO with a wire-to-wire -7 victory and that cursed $917 Super Ace pot on hole 10 survived another week untouched. The infection may be spreading, but apparently so is Austin's immunity to both weather and competition 🦠
Lott Takes Everything 🛒
Austin Lott raided the MPO division like he had the mall directory memorized, posting a 996-rated round that was 41 points above his rating - clearly showing no symptoms of the infection plaguing other survivors. His wire-to-wire -7 performance featured sole birdies on holes 2, 6, and 13, leaving Clayton Rackham (-5) and Malachi Vazquez (-2) fighting over the scraps. Clayton briefly challenged for the lead at hole 12 with his own 38-point rating surge, but couldn't sustain the supply run momentum against Austin's relentless advance.
Fox Hunt Goes Wrong 🦊
The MA1 division saw Craig Bennett establish early control with his +4 performance, holding off a struggling Chris Fox who posted +5 while battling what appeared to be early infection symptoms - his 882-rated round was 45 points below rating. Fox managed one moment of clarity with a sole birdie on the brutal 640ft hole 17, but it wasn't enough to prevent Bennett from claiming the division's resource cache. The plot thickens indeed when survivors start showing signs of struggle...
Clutch Finish, Empty Mall
Kelly Hall ran the MA3 division unopposed with her +9 performance, navigating the abandoned corridors like a seasoned mall walker. After suffering through a cold streak on holes 1-5 that would make a food court pretzel stand jealous, she clutched up with a final-hole birdie to secure her solitary victory. Sometimes the most dramatic battles are the ones you fight alone in empty department stores 🏪
MP40 Mall Walker 👴
Brian Hansen proved that veteran discounts apply even during zombie apocalypses, cruising to a +1 victory in his solo MP40 division. His strategic approach featured sole birdies on holes 3 and 16, plus a clutch finishing birdie on 18 that would make any mall security guard proud. When you've been walking these corridors since before the outbreak, you know exactly where to find the good deals.
Statistical Supply Shortage 📊
Despite all the resource raiding, the real shortage was in the ace department - that $917 Super Ace pot continues growing like contaminated basement water. Austin Lott and Clayton Rackham's rating surges were the day's real treasures, with both players showing suspicious immunity to the deteriorating conditions. The rain-soaked Dragonfly course created scoring opportunities, but only the boldest survivors capitalized while others showed concerning symptoms of struggle.
Security Breach Avoided 🔒
The Security Specter (#1) maintained his ghostly grip on the top position as Austin Lott successfully defended with his -7 performance. This translucent guardian of failed mall security protocols flickered approvingly as Austin dominated the resource run, his phantom radio crackling with satisfaction. Of course, half the tags went MIA during last week's shuffle - apparently even spectral entities have attendance issues during the apocalypse. The Security Specter's malfunctioning surveillance cameras showed only Austin's wire-to-wire victory, proving that some protective systems still function in this deteriorating retail wasteland.
$917 Infection Spreading 💰
The electronics store on hole 10 remained locked tighter than a quarantine zone, with that $917 Super Ace pot growing more virulent by the week. No aces fell during the resource run, meaning survivors will have to wait for next week's Horde Rising to see if anyone can finally breach the department store's defenses. The infection spreads not just through contaminated water, but apparently through unclaimed prize money as well.
94% Infected (With Generosity)
As Resource Run's violent competition manifested more in rating battles than actual combat, the hidden infections are clearly spreading - Chris Fox showing symptoms while Austin Lott appears suspiciously immune to deteriorating conditions. Meanwhile, $7.50 flowed into the USWDGC 2026 fund ($7 automatic, $0.50 extra), pushing it to 94% of goal because apparently even zombie apocalypses can't stop Utah disc golfers from supporting women's championship events. Some infections are worth catching 🏆
Horde Mode Loading... 🧟
With Resource Run complete and supply hierarchies established, Week 5's Horde Rising threatens to unleash the parking garage infected just as survivors are settling into their comfort zones. Will Austin Lott's mysterious immunity continue, or will the promised pack hunting behavior finally catch up to our current leader? The backup generators are still in that flooded basement, and something tells me we're about to find out what happens when the lights go out...
static crackles through the PA system as the fog machines finally give up entirely
The real horror is that I'm still stuck narrating this, but at least you all get to play in the rain. See you next week when things get properly terrifying...
