🧛♂️ THE LOFT BOYS: WEEK 9 - CLIFF SUNRISE
In a foggy coastal town, the cool kids only play at night and never seem to miss a putt that hovers forever. A new teen joins their glow league and discovers the secret to their hang time is... not exactly human. Sunrise brings a showdown at the cliffside pin where daylight is the only OB that matters.
Translation: It's a Lost Boys parody where players pretend their discs float. We're at the climactic episode. The curse supposedly breaks next week. Spoiler: it won't, because it's just disc golf.
Welcome to The Loft Boys @ Urban Forest, where ElevateUT Disc Golf—a legitimate 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to growing the sport through quality venues and events—has decided Monday nights should be spent pretending we're in an 80s vampire movie. This narrative's so 80s, I'm expecting a Ferrari to drive down the fairway.
We're at Week 9 of 10—the "Cliff Sunrise" episode where the newcomer challenges the Head Floater to a midnight match as dawn approaches. Next week is the finale where the curse breaks and everyone discovers their discs obey gravity like normal. *sighs in training montage* Let's pump up the volume on these... routine pars.
You've got one week left to join before the season ends. Jump in for the finale or forever wonder what could have been. (It's just Monday league. You'll be fine.)
Urban Forest at Spanish Fork isn't your manicured park course. It's rugged, semi-wooded, and unforgiving—exactly what you'd expect from a supernatural proving ground. Dirt fairways, waist-high weeds in summer, and enough trees to make every throw feel like threading a needle in the dark.
The course is rated 4.0/5.0 for good reason: it tests accuracy over power, rewards creativity, and punishes sloppy play. Perfect for a vampire league where survival matters more than distance. The sponsors want me to remind you this is "fun." The sponsors have never searched for a disc in thick brush at dusk.
- When: Mondays, December 1, 2025 - February 2, 2026 (10 weeks)
- Start Times: Flex start, 7:00 AM - 4:40 PM (choose your tee time)
- Format: Choose your own card, compete in your division
- Episodes Remaining: 2 (including the season finale)
Wait—flex start from 7am to 4:40pm? For a VAMPIRE league? Apparently the Loft Boys can handle daylight now. Character development, I guess. Or someone didn't read the theme doc.
Base Entry: $5.00 per week
Optional Add-ons:
- 💰 Prize Pool: $5.00
- 🎯 Ace Pot: $5.00
- ⚡ Super Ace: $2.00
Nobody's hit an ace in eight weeks. Either the curse is real or y'all need to work on your putting. I'm betting on the latter.
Vanguard Pool
The elite tier. The Head Floaters. The ones who should know better.
- RPA: Advanced Open (Brian Hansen leads series with 903 points)
- RAH: Advanced Masters 40+ (Craig Bennett at 219 points)
- RAD: Advanced Masters 50+ (Chris Fox dominates with 575 points)
Challengers Pool
The newcomers. The believers. The ones still discovering their "supernatural" putting power.
- RAE: Intermediate (Corry Johnson just took #1 with 274 points)
- RAF: Recreational (Kevin Koga leads with 268 points)
- RAG: Novice (William Fetzer at 179 points)
The Loft Boys is one league in ElevateUT's Reel Lines Series—a season-long 80s movie marathon where each course gets its own cinematic treatment. Other leagues include "A Flick Called Wanda" at Creekside, "The Flight Stuff" at Roots, and "Top Glide" at The Observatory.
Series standings show real competition: Brian Hansen (RPA) has played 46 events for 903 points. Chris Fox (RAD) sits at 575 across 39 rounds. Corry Johnson just edged past Stephen Dunton in RAE by one point. These aren't supernatural achievements—they're just people showing up and throwing plastic consistently. *adjusts headset* Which is somehow more impressive than floating discs.
Behind all this vampire nonsense is ElevateUT Disc Golf, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an actual mission: growing the sport through increasing the quantity and quality of our venues and running events.
They're building courses, organizing leagues, and making disc golf accessible across Utah. The fact that they're doing it with 80s movie themes and supernatural glow rounds? That's just commitment to the bit. Respect. *reluctantly salutes*
⚠️ FINAL CALL FOR LOFT RECRUITS ⚠️
We're at Week 9 of 10. The climax. The showdown. The moment where daylight supposedly breaks the curse and reveals that everyone's been throwing normal plastic this whole time.
You've got TWO WEEKS LEFT to join this ridiculous vampire parody before it ends. Jump in for "Cliff Sunrise" and the finale "Urban Dawn." Experience the joy of pretending your discs hover while navigating Urban Forest's unforgiving terrain.
Monday nights. Flex start 7am-4:40pm. $5 base entry. Show up, throw plastic, embrace the absurdity. The Loft Boys are waiting. *sighs in synthesized saxophone* And so am I, contractually obligated to narrate every moment.
Registration opens soon. The curse won't break itself.
