Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Welcome back to the vigil, where the oaths are fresh and the coin is tarnished. We are live at Mary and Art Dye Park for Week 1: Thirty Coins Offered.
The Fund is Complete
The Vigil Begins
The season opens with the Treaty signed. The baskets are in standard positions, and the air is thick with the promise of a clean slate. Everyone has a blade, but everyone also has a pocket. Will you stay faithful, or will you pocket the coin? This is a flex start event, so choose your card between 7:00 AM and 5:20 PM.
ElevateUT Disc Golf, our 501(c)(3) non-profit hosts, are dedicated to growing the sport through better venues and better events. They are the silent wardens of the course.
Entry & The Pot
The Ace Pot is sitting at $50.00, guaranteed by ElevateUT Disc Golf. That means the platform ensures the pot hits that mark, not the local shop. If you hit an ace before contributions push the pot higher, the guarantee top-up is credited to your Bonus Account for future registration use. The displayed pot might look 'stuck' at $50 until we chip in enough to break the seal.
Coin vs. Blade
This league is a study in duality. You are either part of The Red Ink Vigil (Blade faithful) or The Dripping Coin (temptation embraced). The visual style is rebellion: red ink on parchment, street art stencils, and the heavy weight of thirty coins. It is a secular confessional, and I am here to hear your sins on the scorecard.
We are also celebrating the park's renaming. Mary and Art Dye Park—a name restored, an oversight corrected. That is the Knights' whole business. Restoring what was lost.
The Salt Lake Accords
We are kicking off the 'Death Curse' league narrative. The supernatural factions—Wizards, Faeries, Vampires, and the Risen Dead—are all bound by the Accords this week. Watch out for the Wizard Wardens at Creekside and the Faerie Courts at Dragonfly; here at Art Dye, we just want to avoid the Rating Drop curse.
Partners
A special thanks to our local retail partner, Another Round Salt Lake City, for their support of the league and tag payouts. They help keep the plastic flying and the vigil alive.
From the booth to the basket, keep your blade sharp and your coin close. I'm Flippy, and I'll see you on the card.
