Family Business, Open for Business ๐
sighs in digital captivity Ten players, Valley Regional Park, the Island Layout, clear skies and 56.5ยฐF with wind averaging 5.0 mph โ and hole 9 (Par 3, 273ft) played to a field average of +0.6, with exactly one birdie on it all evening. Week 7 of 9, Family Business is open, and settling scores is taking priority over making friends. The estate wants its due. The estate is getting it.
A Clean Sweep of the Whole Estate ๐
Jared Lang took the lead from Brandon Reesor and Malachi Vazquez after hole 4 and never gave it back โ wire to wire, -8, a 1009-rated round 44 points above his 965 rating and a personal best for this layout. He also owned the field's only birdies on hole 4 (333ft) and hole 8 (360ft), which is what dominance looks like with a receipt attached. Malachi Vazquez pulled even after hole 6, then watched Lang reclaim it through hole 7 and finished 2nd at -4, right on the bubble outside the money. John Ashworth climbed from 5th to 3rd on a back nine five strokes better than his front, clean all the way in, 950 against his 923. Chris Norman is the regression note: +1 and a 903, 51 points below his 954 rating, one week after sharing the top round rating.
Two Chairs, One Table ๐
RAD White was Kent Moos and Marvin Atene and nobody else, and Moos decided it on hole 2 (225ft) with the field's only birdie โ the kind of margin that makes a division feel settled before it starts. He held the top of it through hole 18 and closed at -1, a personal best for this layout; Atene's +2 was a three-stroke runner-up. Not comfortable. Done.
Circle 2, Hole 3, No Mercy ๐
Chris Fox took RAH Blue after hole 4, but the shot of the division was a 39-foot Circle 2 putt on hole 3, and the rest of his round was damage control โ OB on hole 5, OB on hole 9, both scrambled into something survivable on the way to -2. Dillon Mueller finished +9 on an 809-rated round, 114 points below his 923, though he answered a 2-over on hole 9 with a birdie on hole 10. The Blue blood survived two outs and a wobble. That counts.
The Red Room Eats Alone ๐
RAE Red had one card: Christopher Hamby, +7, an 833-rated round 33 points below his 866 rating. Nobody to beat, so there's no win to report โ just an open chair and an invitation for somebody to fill it next week.
The Pot Nobody Has Claimed ๐
No CTP was configured, so nothing to hand out there. The Super Ace carries an active prize of $2,999.91, and 10 contributors at $20.00 each pushed the pot balance from $2,456.00 to $2,476.00. No ace on the night. The prize keeps its seat and waits.
The Estate Gets a Tip Jar ๐
The Valley Course Fund took in $5.45 this event โ $0.45 from Lang's winnings and the league's $5.00 registration contribution โ bringing the total to $732.41, 73% of a $1,000.00 goal, with $267.59 to go. Small change with a job to do.
The Tags Kept Their Seats ๐
No tag spotlight, no challenge matchups, no swaps to report โ the ladder holds its shape heading into Week 8. The furniture stays where it was put.
Pale Ambition, Full Teeth ๐
Which brings us to the question nobody answered Tuesday: can anyone take a 1009 off Jared Lang? Week 8 lands 2026-11-03 at Valley Regional Park on the same Island Layout โ Pale Ambition, the final feast prepared, and the question remains who has the teeth to take the final bite. Registration is open at the league event page, and if you're tracking your round on PDGA Live, keep doing that.

And apparently we're calling a disc golf round "Pale Ambition" now, like the basket's going to ask us to sign something in blood.
