The Veil Thresh was born when the first competitor entered the Deadlands and the frontier's supernatural laws crystallized around the concept of separation. The culling is not random - it is a fundamental law, and the Veil Thresh is its physical manifestation: the cosmic mechanism that sorts the worthy from the unworthy, weaving competitors into the realm of the remembered or casting them into oblivion.
The Veil Thresh manifests as a shimmering membrane of golden threads woven together against a backdrop of dark red energy - a cosmic loom that pulses with the Deadlands' cursed frontier magic. The threads glow with inner gold (#C5A059) while the surrounding energy burns deep red (#8B0000), visible only to those being judged in the moment of their culling.
The Veil Thresh is the threshold competitors cross when the culling claims them - the moment of separation between the remembered and forgotten. It connects all leagues within the series by representing the universal judgment that separates the strong from the weak, determining which competitors rise and which fall into the dust of the forgotten.
