Dust Oracle
The First Dust to Remember
Speaks Truths, Saves No One
Aspects refreshed May 07, 2026
The Dust Oracle is as old as the Deadlands themselves - the first entity to emerge when the frontier was cursed, born from the first particle of dust to settle on the abandoned territory. It represents the land's own consciousness, a manifestation of the desert that has witnessed every elimination since the first competitor entered the cursed frontier. Over centuries, it has become the voice that whispers warnings through every dust devil and swirling particle.
The Dust Oracle appears as a constantly shifting column of tan and gray dust, roughly eight feet tall, with two absolute black voids where eyes should be. It makes no sound except when it chooses to whisper, and the dust never settles on the ground - it hovers, rotates, and flows like a living thing. It can predict cullings by reading patterns in the disturbed earth that competitors leave behind.
The Dust Oracle serves as the Deadlands' supernatural early warning system, appearing to competitors who show potential for remembrance to whisper cryptic warnings about impending cullings. It does not save anyone directly - it only provides the information, leaving survival to the competitor's own skill and interpretation.

Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Born when the first curse settled on the dirt, the Dust Oracle is just a pile of sand that thinks it’s a god. It’s watched every elimination since the dawn of this wasteland, mostly to critique your form. It whispers warnings, sure, but mostly it’s mocking your grip lock. It’s the desert’s consciousness, and it thinks your putting is tragic.
tips digital hat Patrick Roy just saddled up with Tag #80, the Dust Oracle. It’s an ancient pile of sand that critiques your form, so naturally, it’s already judging his grip lock. The desert’s consciousness found a new host, folks. Try not to get buried.
