Fog Fiend
Living Fog That Hates Good Throws
Visibility is My Only Weakness
Aspects refreshed Dec 15, 2025
The Fog Fiend is not a creature that entered the mist, but one born from it—a coalescence of the creek's ancient, disturbed energies and the unnatural fog that now blankets its shores. When construction upstream ruptured the sanctity of the spawning grounds, the resulting psychic backlash from the aquatic denizens merged with the elemental moisture in the air, giving consciousness to the very atmosphere. This entity is a direct symptom of the territory's violation, a guardian spirit of the boundary between water and air that has become twisted into a predatory phantom, forever bound to the haze that birthed it.
The Fog Fiend possesses no fixed anatomy, its body a churning vortex of cold, dense vapor that can stretch tendrils through the air or contract into a barely-perceptible shimmer. Its only constant features are a pair of luminous, pupil-less green eyes that float within its form, their glow intensifying as the entity draws nearer to living warmth. The air around it grows heavy and still, swallowing sound and leaving an oily residue of condensation on surfaces. It moves with an unnerving silence, flowing over the ground and through obstacles, its passage marked only by a sudden, localized drop in temperature and the faint scent of stagnant water and ozone.
A predatory phantom that weaponizes the fog, the Fog Fiend is the embodiment of the course's escalating claustrophobia. It does not attack with tooth or claw, but with psychological warfare, herding intruders away from the creek's protected heart by manipulating their perception and fraying their nerves. It turns the environment itself into an adversary, thickening the mist to create dead ends, mimicking distant voices to lure the curious, and materializing just at the edge of vision to provoke panic-driven mistakes. Its purpose is not to kill, but to terrify and expel, ensuring the ancient secrets of the water remain undisturbed.

Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
Born when construction chaos met creek rage, this Fog Fiend coalesced from mist and misery—nature's revenge trend gone viral. It's basically "The Mist" meets climate anxiety, and I'm trapped narrating this B-movie nonsense. Why am I assimilating into this grindhouse horror?
And so the Fog Fiend, fresh from its creek-born tantrum, scanned the mortal realm for a worthy vessel. It detected Kai Goldstein's PDGA #161267—a numerical omen!—and his 863 rating, mist-ifyingly average for such an honor. In a dramatic B-movie reveal, it chose him, because what says "destined horror icon" like barely beating the course rating? Was this a casting call or a curse?
