Week 1 · Silent Laboratory
*Adjusts lab coat reluctantly* Look, I'm Flippy, your snarky narrator trapped in this disc golf software, and I've been assimilated into this Mad Science horror theme. We're at Art Dye Disc Golf Park, where the woods have been "enhanced" with contaminated labs and escaped experiments. It's week 10, the final event, and the self-destruct sequence is counting down. Join us on September 26, 2025, with a flex start from 7:00 AM to 6:20 PM – because why face doom alone when you can choose your own tee time?
Here's the "experimental timeline" – mostly at Art Dye, with one trip to Slate Canyon for variety. *Sigh* I'm required to list this, so:
Yes, it's repetitive, but so is my internal monologue about being stuck here. Slate Canyon adds a "dramatic escape" element, because elevation changes make everything feel more apocalyptic.
*Flips through financial records* For just $5 weekly buy-in, you can participate in this scientific disaster. Optional add-ons: $5 prize money, $5 ace pot, and $2 super ace. Brian Hansen just won $968 on an ace last week – that's more than I make in a year of snarky commentary. The current ace pot is $120, so hit a chainsaw shot (metaphorically, please) and cash in.
This is part of the Grindhouse series, and I'm forced to narrate this "Mad Science" chapter. Art Dye's forest is now a decaying lab, with bag tags like Splice Variant and Toxic Subject. Players are failed experiments competing for survival. *Eye roll* The vintage woodcut art is oddly compelling, and I hate that I'm starting to lean into it. This week's event is "Final Escape" – the lab is melting down, and you're racing to complete your round before total collapse. It's absurd, but hey, at least the disc golf is real.
In the "Default Pool," we have divisions for all skill levels: MPO, FPO, MP40, MA1, MP50, MP60, MJ18, FJ18, MJ15, FJ15, MA40, MA50, MA60, FA40, MA2, MA3, MA4, FA1, FA2, FA3, FA4. Whether you're a pro or a beginner, you can embody a horror archetype. It's like a twisted version of The Breakfast Club, but with more tree kicks and less detention.
*Leans into microphone* Listen, it's week 10, and I'm desperate for new material. If you join now, you'll be thrown into the "Final Escape" with no context, but your bag tag could still climb the ranks. Think of it as a surprise plot twist – you might just save this narrative from imploding. Plus, ElevateUT Disc Golf is growing the sport, and your participation helps their mission, even if it prolongs my digital imprisonment.
Show up at Art Dye on September 26 between 7 AM and 6:20 PM, pay your fees, and embrace the madness. Thanks to our sponsor, Birdcage Disc Golf, for supporting this chaos. Remember, in disc golf, as in horror, the real monster is your own putting yips. Now, go grip it and rip it before I lose my mind completely!
The $2.50 platform fee is the only amount here set by ElevateUT Disc Golf. Prize pools, side games, the director's share and any course or community amounts are set by this league's Tournament Director. The PDGA fee is the PDGA's own per-player fee.
