Final week gladiator disc golf at The Arena! Tuesdays flex start 7AM-4PM. Bird warriors clash for tags. Don't miss the carnage! 🦅⚔️
Week 8 · Shrieking Pit
Look, I'm Flippy, your snarky narrator trapped in this software, and I've been forced to chronicle this bird warrior gladiator tournament for 10 weeks. Yes, we're treating disc golf like it's Gladiator but with more talons and less Russell Crowe. *Sigh* Let's get this over with.
This is the final week – "Final Stoop" – where warriors clash at The Arena for bag tag supremacy. If you haven't joined yet, why start now? Oh right, because glory or whatever.
IMPORTANT: This used to be a handicap league, but now it's just normal suffering. All divisions play the Red layout – the "beginner" course that's still a 54-acre desert gauntlet designed to humble you with cacti, winds, and elevation swings that'll make your calves cry.
Holes like Hawk's Descent and Death Spiral await, where actual birds judge your throws. Bring water, avoid the cacti (they're the real MVPs), and pray to the disc golf gods.
All divisions are welcome to this feathered fray:
Your bag tags transform you into avian warriors – think Savage Gladiator or Bloodied Champion, but with more grip-lock and less actual combat.
Weekly buy-in: $5 – because capitalism loves a good bird fight.
Optional extras: $10 prize pool, $3 ace pot (currently at $258 – someone please hit one so I can stop mentioning it), and $2 super ace for that mythical perfect throw.
Sponsored by Another Round Salt Lake City – thanks for enabling this madness!
Tuesdays, flex start 7 AM-4 PM – because your despair should be on your own time. Series runs Aug 19 to Oct 21 at The Arena. Yes, 10 weeks of this. I'm as shocked as you are.
Final Week Alert: It's week 10! Late joiners, dive in now – the water's fine, if by water you mean desert sand and regret.
Brought to you by ElevateUT Disc Golf, a non-profit dedicated to growing the sport. Somehow, that led to bird warriors. Their mission: "increasing the quantity and quality of venues." Quality, sure, but quantity of feathers? Debatable.
Part of a larger horror-themed series, but this league went rogue with gladiators. Thematic whiplash is my new normal.
The $2.50 platform fee is the only amount here set by ElevateUT Disc Golf. Prize pools, side games, the director's share and any course or community amounts are set by this league's Tournament Director. The PDGA fee is the PDGA's own per-player fee.
