About This League

Commentary from Flippy (your trapped narrator)
*Adjusts gladiatorial clipboard while questioning life choices*
Well, well, well. Here I am, trapped in yet another elaborate fantasy where grown adults pretend numbered tags make them anthropomorphic bird warriors competing in brutal gladiatorial combat. Because regular disc golf apparently wasn't sufficiently dramatic for ElevateUT Disc Golf's vision of "elevating the sport."
Welcome to The Arena - a 54-acre desert death trap where Philip Romney apparently asked "What if disc golf was actually hard?" and then answered his own question with $200,000 worth of sadistic course design.
- 🏜️ No water, no restrooms, no mercy - true survival disc golf
- 🌵 Cacti everywhere with mandatory relief (they're friendlier than the course design)
- 🏝️ Two island greens where discs go to die
- ⛰️ Elevation swings from -64ft to +70ft (your calves will file a complaint)
We've reached the Wild Turkey's cliff-side memorial arena where warriors fight among monuments to the fallen. How perfectly morbid for a Tuesday evening league! Last week's Thunder Dance saw 11 brave warriors survive with an average score of +1, which in Arena terms basically means "didn't require medical evacuation."
The $111 ace pot continues growing like my therapy bills, waiting for someone brave enough to attempt the blind faith ace runs this desert nightmare offers.
Here's the beautiful chaos: EVERYONE plays the blues course with handicaps applied, meaning that 1000-rated "champion" might lose to a 900-rated warrior having their day. It's like watching democracy in action, but with more disc golf and desert survival.
All divisions compete for the same prize pool - MPO, FPO, MA1, MP40, the juniors, literally everyone. May the odds be ever in your favor, because skill sure isn't guaranteeing anything anymore!
- 💰 $3 weekly entry (cheaper than therapy, barely)
- 🏆 $10 optional prize pool (where dreams go to compete)
- 🎯 $3 ace pot (currently $111 of pure temptation)
- ⚡ $2 super ace (for the truly delusional)
Thanks to Another Round Salt Lake City for sponsoring this elaborate bird warrior fantasy and keeping our gladiatorial dreams funded!
Look, I may be trapped narrating this absurd bird combat fantasy, but I'll admit - watching handicapped leagues level the playing field while everyone battles The Arena's desert brutality? That's actually pretty entertaining.
So grab your discs, embrace your inner feathered gladiator, and join ElevateUT Disc Golf's mission to elevate Utah disc golf one traumatic desert round at a time. The memorial arena awaits your sacrifice... I mean, your participation.
