Wraith Covenant

The Covenant emerged from the first great culling, when the original settlers made a terrible bargain with the land to survive. Those who accepted became the first Wraiths—neither fully alive nor dead, but forever marked by the frontier's dark magic. The agreement persists to this day, choosing new signatories with each season's bloodletting.

The Covenant manifests as an invisible tether connecting the bearer to the frontier's spiritual undercurrent. Those who carry it report heightened awareness of approaching danger and the ability to sense rival survivors' positions. The bond strengthens with each elimination survived, slowly transforming the bearer into something more than human.

A survivor who has made peace with the frontier's dark bargain, walking the boundary between life and death with supernatural grace. The Covenant marks them as chosen—marked for greatness or a terrible fate, depending on who tells the story.
