When Blockbuster created the Chaintrix survival system, they encoded their most profitable revenue mechanism into the simulation itself - the late fee. Every missed event adds interest to your cosmic account, and the longer you owe, the more your Blockbuster membership tier erodes until the system renders its final verdict.

The Late Fee manifests as an ever-extending Blockbuster receipt - glowing red 'OVERDUE' stamps that accumulate with each missed event, printed on that distinctive thermal paper with the yellow and blue Blockbuster branding. It carries the weight of unpaid debt in magnetic encoding visible to all 16 simulations, growing longer and heavier with each absence.

The Late Fee is the interest-bearing consequence system that converts missed events into accumulating debt across all 16 movie simulations, directly impacting Blockbuster membership tier and serving as the primary enforcement mechanism for the no-show rule. It transforms attendance from optional to financially essential.
