The Phosphor Inheritance emerged when a defective batch of CRT monitors was used to broadcast the original 16 simulations. The phosphor coating was mixed with an experimental compound that created permanent afterglow - images that never fully faded. What was meant to be a manufacturing error became the Chaintrix's memory system, ensuring that every player's performance leaves a glowing trace that subsequent players must either match or be consumed by.

Manifests as persistent afterglow on every screen across all 16 simulations, with the brightest glows belonging to players who've survived multiple leagues. Burns in chromatic layers - pink for new achievements, green for sustained performance, blue for legacy status - creating a visible hierarchy of inherited luminescence. Leaves phosphorescent residue that accumulates on physical bag tags, causing them to glow faintly in darkness with the accumulated light of all previous holders.

Acts as the inheritance mechanism that transfers accumulated prestige and pressure from one simulation to the next, making each bag tag holder responsible for maintaining the phosphorescent brightness of all who came before.
