The Archivists recovered the fragment and named the phenomenon, believing it to be the ghost of a failed observer who died cataloging the Flare Witch’s flight. Over time, the name became a mantle, passed to those who mastered the art of silent observation and flawless pattern recall.

Silent Archive emits a low-frequency hum detectable only through analog headphones, a sound that synchronizes with the rhythm of failing tape heads. It stabilizes glitching trail cams within a 20-meter radius and causes errant discs to pause mid-flight for exactly 1.3 seconds—just long enough to record their trajectory. Those attuned to its frequency report seeing translucent overlays of past throws layered over live play, like ghosted playback on a paused VCR.
