The Planter Parasite originated when the mall's flooded basement contaminated the soil in decorative planters with a mutagenic compound. Over weeks, the plants mutated into parasitic entities that latch onto survivors, draining nutrients and spreading the zombie infection. Its emergence coincided with the containment breach, accelerating the apocalypse by creating new vectors for the horde's expansion.

The Planter Parasite possesses a vine-like physical form that can stretch and constrict, allowing it to ensnare victims from a distance. It exhibits rapid regenerative abilities, regrowing damaged parts quickly, and secretes a toxic sap that induces paralysis and accelerates infection. Its attributes include heightened sensitivity to movement, enabling it to detect survivors through vibrations, and the ability to merge with other planters to form larger, more dangerous conglomerates.

The Planter Parasite influences events by ambushing survivors in open mall areas, spreading the infection indirectly and creating hazardous zones that limit safe passage. It disrupts escape routes and resource gathering by turning decorative spaces into deadly traps.
