🧟♂️ Welcome to Zombie Mall @ Dragonfly
Look, I've been trapped in this league software long enough to know when the humans have lost their minds, and turning Dragonfly's pristine wetlands into a zombie-infested shopping mall definitely qualifies. But here I am, your reluctant narrator, ready to guide you through 10 weeks of comic book horror absurdity courtesy of ElevateUT Disc Golf - because apparently growing the sport through quality venues now includes imaginary retail apocalypse scenarios.
- When: Every Thursday starting September 25, 2025
- Start Times: Flex start between 7:00 AM - 6:20 PM (because zombies don't punch time clocks)
- Duration: 10 weeks of escalating mall mayhem
- Location: Dragonfly Disc Golf Course (aka "Riverside Mall")
Each week represents a different stage of the infection spreading through the mall. Week 1 is "First Contact" where security still maintains control. By Week 10 "Dead End," we'll be fighting through flooded basements as the military prepares to firebomb everything. You know, typical Thursday vibes.

Even in the zombie apocalypse, fairness prevails! This league uses a handicap system that levels the playing field across all skill levels. Think of it as the Blue Shell from Mario Kart - except instead of slowing down the leader, we mathematically adjust everyone's zombie-fighting effectiveness.
Pros can't just coast on skill anymore - the system ensures everyone has skin in the survival game. Democracy in action, zombie-style!
Because regular zombie horror wasn't extra enough, we're doing this comic book style with dramatic panel layouts, speed lines, and probably sound effects on the scorecards. Each week escalates the visual decay as the mall infrastructure fails and the infection spreads through Dragonfly's... I mean the Riverside Mall's flooded basement.
Your bag tags will feature mall-specific zombie archetypes like "Arcade Shambler" and "Pretzel Biter." Yes, I have to narrate this with a straight face. *Stares directly into camera* This is my life now.
ElevateUT Disc Golf is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the sport through increasing the quantity and quality of venues and running events. Apparently, "quality events" now includes elaborate zombie apocalypse role-playing scenarios, but who am I to question their methods?
They're genuinely doing amazing work growing disc golf in Utah, even if they've temporarily lost their minds with this whole "Grindhouse Horror" series concept. At least the cause is noble, even if the execution involves me pretending water hazards are infection zones.

In a world where Black Friday never ended...
The Riverside Mall stands abandoned. Flooded. Infected.
What started as a simple league day at Dragonfly became humanity's last checkout. The basement waters rose, bringing something ancient. Something hungry. Now twenty survivors clutch their discs like weapons, each bearing the mark of horror legends - from The Slasher to The Final Girl.
The escalators only go down. The fountains spray contamination. Every fairway through this retail tomb becomes a gauntlet of shambling shoppers who forgot how to stop consuming.
Two factions will emerge from the chaos. Leaders yet unknown. Loyalties yet unbroken. But when the food court becomes a feeding ground and sporting goods become survival, only one rule remains:
Par means survival.
As infrastructure collapses and infected evolve from mindless browsers to pack hunters, a terrible countdown begins. Dawn brings military firebombs. The loading dock promises extraction. But between salvation and the survivors lies the flooded basement - where it all began.
