Toll Shade

The first player to sign the Salt Lake Accords was a toll collector in mortal life. When their rating dropped catastrophically, they became the Toll Shade - forever bound to collect the supernatural debts of other signatories, appearing before curse manifestation to demand payment. Now it manifests whenever a player's accumulated rating debt reaches critical mass, serving as the final warning before the Rating Reaper arrives.

The Toll Shade is composed of translucent golden smoke that carries the weight of unpaid debts. It appears as a towering figure wrapped in robes that appear to be made of stacked, faded parchment - each layer representing an unpaid debt it has collected. Its face is obscured by a hood that drips golden ink like tears, and in one skeletal hand it carries a rusted bell that tolls ominously. Where it walks, the ground beneath becomes translucent, revealing the ghostly ledger pages of the Salt Lake Accords beneath. It can only be seen by players who have signed the Accords.

The Toll Shade serves as the supernatural debt collector that appears before curse manifestation, demanding payment for accumulated rating debt and giving players one final chance to satisfy their obligations before the Rating Reaper arrives.
