Ink Wraith

The Ink Wraith was born when the Salt Lake Accords were first signed. The founders used magical ink that could not be unmade, and when ratings dropped and curses manifested, that ink took spectral form. It now feeds on the growing debt of every player who has signed the treaty, growing stronger with each curse that manifests and each contract that fades.

The Ink Wraith is composed entirely of shifting, spectral ink that constantly drips and reforms. It leaves faint ink stains on anything it touches that slowly fade but never fully disappear. It speaks in a chorus of whispers representing all players who owe supernatural debt to the Accords. The entity manifests more strongly near players whose ratings are approaching curse thresholds, its form growing more solid and its whispers louder as danger approaches.

The Ink Wraith serves as a warning entity that appears to players before their rating drops trigger curse manifestation, showing them glimpses of their potential fate through the void where its face should be. It documents the supernatural consequences of the Accords in a way that neither the Curse Ledger (after-the-fact chronicle) nor the Clause Phantom (threshold warning) can achieve - by showing what could be rather than what has been or what will be.
